So warriors quite regularly crit me for 1600-1800 dmg, which is more than 25% of my hp, yet I can hardly hit them for 300?
Shamans just struggle in TBC Arena mate it is what it is
Dps shamans are weak in tbc arena, thats just how it is.
Your best bet is to go resto and find a ret/arms, or wait for LK and go ele<3
search a warrior. reset talent to resto. enjoy
Ignore all of the advice there, do this:
Either go resto, and find a spriest and warlock and play 3v3
OR
Resto + warlock and rogue
OR
Go ele and get ez rating in 5s (can do this as resto but probably more fun as ele)
OR
If you must be enha, get a hpal and bm hunter for 3s.
Enha hits hard with some wf procs. Sadly it takes a lot of foresight to swap to your shield when getting stunned and predicting incoming dmg.
Ele just disenchants people , but thats more 5s. Sure can work in 2’s and 3’ just fine, but not as powerful as some others I agree.
Resto is good with a couple of combos, Ret/Arms comes instantly to mind for 3s. Or a Ret partner for 2’s as well works just fine since he has what you lack (Magic Dispel) and you have what he lacks (Slows, Interrupts, Grounding etc).
TBC was not very well balanced. You have Rogues bringing endless control and busted dmg. Warriors do stupid dmg, I agree, but are one of the easiest to control for the most part (So that’s their minus).
A lot of others have different tools, not all equal on the power scale (Or even close).
TBC is VERY rng with procs, misses, dodges, resists and what ever else. And what you need to accept is that X combo of equal skill will always beast Y. Some combos just hard counter other combos, unlike the modern game where unless you are playing something really off “meta” or even decent its not going to be as punishing.
Part of the problem right now is also the low resil world - for example rogue damage falls off really hard compared to some other specs as we progress through the seasons, unless they stack PVE gear. When they do that in s2 or s3 though the difference in their survivability becomes really, really noticeable.
As they always said way back when, “Resilience will fix it”
Well, thats true to a point. Tho Rogues will always have the control, and will always hit hard, it wont be as bad as it is right now. Id go as far as to say “Season 2 will fix it” since I think with the way Blizzard is scheduling phases its coming a lot sooner then we can actually farm the gear. But at that point you still have the same problems early on. People will farm really strong PvE gear a lot faster then was the case back in the day. Resulting in again players lacking high Resilience to compensate.
It wont be even close as it was during the first like… 2 weeks of this season, but its still problematic imo.
… all this advice about ele shamans; OP is posting from a retail toon. We don’t know what he/she is using in TBC classic.
Rsham/warr is also 2.3+ viable, and Rsham/rogue is a tier 1 comp, only slightly behind the top comps. For 2s obv
Class balance in TBC is very rock-paper-scissors. Warriors do well against enhancement shamans but struggle against mages, for example, while mages are typically easier for enhancement shamans. It is what it is.
Rock paper scissors?
Rogue and warlock players in shambles ![]()
WoW forums 2021.
Guy: Sorry dude enhancement shammy is just not good in TBC arena. It is how it is.
Guy: WTF do you mean horde have longer queues than alliance? THIS IS AN OUTRAGE!
Most battlegroups in 2s right now are like 70% rogue/mage which is
abysmal for rsham/war, if you’re posting complaining about war dmg you’re definitely not good enough to beat mage/rogue teams with that comp.
Defo am tho, warriors literally RNG windfury me for my entire healthpool - MR doesnt RNG me with 0 indication. Actually yesterday we nearly lost to some superbad 1900 retpala (but same principle applies to warrior) because the guy procced some quad windfury on me and LITERALLY globalled me 100-0 through shield, on the deathlog I literally died in the same 0.1sec damage report. Magerogue is broken but you can estimate their damage.
And if shadowpriest/rogues can get 2.2, then warr restosham can. Magerogue may be tough, but when we queued we faced plenty of lock priest, rogue priest, magepriest, lockrogue, lockdruid, lock rogue, warr druid, hunt druid, hunt priest… it defo wasnt 70% magerogue.
yeah thats kinda what happens when they get lvl 123 weapons just by paying like 500g for blacksmithing.
500 gold for blacksmithing lol you must be dreaming try lvling blacksmithing from 1-375 and then get all the mats for thunder + war thunder for 500gold…
Yeah that’s corect !
The game Is not think for the 1v1 balance, the war + enha + heal remain a big giant tbc comp, you Need alot of resilience like all and when One Warrior hit on low resilience happen this.
Normally you have to Gear up whit the piece pvp Blue before start to do Arena, do it, you are Alliance, its really Easy for you
