IMO: Afflicted is the worst affix

For those who don’t know what it is - This affix makes you dispel a ghost otherwise your group takes a -50% Haste penalty. This can spawn twice, so you have to have more than one person to help out the healer. Alternatively, you can heal it, but in high keys this is very risky.

Now, my problem with it. Spiteful is annoying yes, but by no means can it only be countered by certain compositions.

My problem is, most classes can’t do this affix.

Warrior, Hunter, Rogue, Warlock, DH and DK have no means of dispelling or healing other targets. DK can Death Coil it, but to ruin your rotation for an affix seems absurd, and let’s be honest no one’s actually doing this.

W H Y

would you make an affix that only certain classes can do? It just seems insane since every other affix is relatively flexible and doesn’t punish you for not bringing specific classes.

Something that is so detrimental as a Haste debuff should be able to be countered by all classes.

That’s all.

i enjoy the overlaps with dungeon mechanics. and it doesn’t matter you lose or you lose. unplayable without 3 dispell classes.

It is over tomorrow.

There were already 2 more topics about the very same subject, but i leave this Tettles-video here.

What about incorporeal? Where hunter traps might fail, warriors are… useless, classes need to spec for hard cc and most of them have a cast time so less room to do damage/healing… is that fun to you?

Theres always someone whining every week that its the worst week ever.

Meantime most people just get on with it.

Both can be bad and you can complain about one without implying that the other is somehow good.

Its better. More classes can do it, and it doesn’t perceived in low keys as healer affix only

Imo an affix you have to play around is the worst affix ever

Even though I’m one of the classes that deals with Incorp, I find it much more of an inconvenience than Afflicted. This one is just dispel instantly and get on with it. Casting as a melee (repenting the Inc) feels like I’m stood there forever even though it’s only 1.2 seconds :dracthyr_hehe_animated:

Tomorrow the complaints can start about Volcanic and Sanguine!!!

I’m waiting for all classes to need to be given an item to be able to grip or knock back!!! Some seem to think every class has to be able to deal with every affix. Meanwhile I’m quite happy when I get a week off!

I’ m not really against this affix, but to be fair it’s not the same as volcanic and sanguine, both of which are trivial to avoid by moving

It is an unusual affix in that it’s terrible for pugs but the moment you have a drop of organisation in your groups it becomes a complete none affixes

Also forgive me but didn’t they make changes to enable those other classes to deal with affix. I have a vague memory of hunters being able to tranq shot it

Sadly we can’t I tried :frowning:

I’m not complaining about the difficulty, I’m questioning if it’s a fun experience or not.

At least (as Evok) with afflicted it’s a click and it’s over. Sometimes they’re gone before I realise they have spawned.

That’s what awaits tomorrow? That’s like 3 weeks of me avoiding keys at this point. D: (4 if bolstering was the week before incorporeal)

I actually dislike Spiteful more than Incor or Afflicted. Especially as a melee.

Not the s-word! It creates evil spirits that one-shot
Jokes aside though, the only time i liked affixes was the seasonal additions and teeming because i was a dps back then. But i hope that someone, anyone likes m+ affixes at least

I know they’ve fixed them long ago but this meme always tickles me

Wait, they fixed it? I unironically skipped every week of spiteful since i got hit once from half a kilometer away

They still have a bigger reach than I’d like but when they were first introduced their arms were too long.

But that was pretty early on in SL that it got fixed.
