Maybe on one of my alts, a monk who is set on helping safeguard a temple and Kalimdor as a whole might be a bit out of place in Stormwind
Oof, better do that on a fitting character, absolutely.
I’ve always added stuff like this to my reports: “https://eu.battle.net/support/en/article/32617 non rp name” copy paste of notepad to link policies
I think if we all strive to start reports with (Roleplay Server) it might help get the attention we want to get as we’re reminding the GM that there dealing with a report from a Roleplay server and as such the rules are just a bit different. To steal a line from Tesco “Every little helps”.
Not sure if it has already been mentioned somewhere, but how about having the RP realms moved from the language tabs in the realm selection screen to a separate “Roleplay” tab? Similar to the “Tournament” one.
Not sure though ofc if that is possible technically, also how the different languages could be handled. I guess the “Type” column could be modified for that?
This combined with a pop-up showing the extended RP server rules and requiring a distinct confirmation, like a checkbox (“I have read and agree…”, y’all know how it goes), might help make some people more aware about what kind of server they are actually about to choose.
Also, I’d really appreciate having even the basic naming rules enforced.
Call me snowflake, but logging into places like the Seal and having to rightclick-report about 7 people each and every day, only to still see them running around for weeks and months, really kinda rains on my parade, ngl. I actually joined AD to find likeminded people with a similar view on immersion and to get away from the haha-mah-latest-twitch-meme-pepega-name-is-so-funny types…
If the forced renaming is indeed triggered by the amount of reports, maybe the threshold for this needs to be looked at as well, at least for RP servers.
I mentioned a few posts above how a GM themselves said that the reports they receive would be more likely to be responded to, depending on how they are worded, but yes, one of the things I typed as they recommended was -start- by saying this is happening on an RP realm.
Step by step I suppose? Non-RP chara names on sight, everything else coordinated by an air strike!
I think having your own tab/register card for RPs would help a lot.
Apparently Blizzard just put pretty big limits on a range of AH addons that were being abused
Wouldn’t it be crazy of the same could be done for another series of addons … just kidding … unless

Reasons to stay on AD for OOC’ers on a basis of “the economy” drops to 0 over night.
Part of my daily login routine involves reporting some names inappropriate for an RP realm but I always found it hard to strike a balance between what looks like an automated copy paste response and spending too much time on something that should be obvious at first glance to the GM so thanks for this, will include the link in future.

If you want to see how much blizzard cares about the name policy, there is a horde named lvl 120 petitemilf running around.
Few tricks against griefers down here
-Against football spam
or
-Against mounts and you might want to park some alts around your rp spot (since it has no level requirement to use.
Never knew about the barrier generator, pretty cool - though the stun is dismissable so not really good for anti-griefing
All-Seer’s Eye dismounting is an unintended bug that still hasn’t been fixed so I wouldn’t use that
honestly any questionnaire to access a realm is a steadfast way to kill your playerbase. In-game reporting (while ofc underwhelming) is still a far better solution than “lol you failed this arbitrary questionnaire you can no longer access your realm of characters”, thats a good way to make long-term players loudly leave your community, blizz might as well shoot their feet now if that’s a solution they would pay lip service to.
The crux of the matter simply is that we need better enforcement of the RP rules that are in place on Argent Dawn. We simply need better moderation from Blizzard for that. If there was stricter enforcement, OOC’ers and Goldshire-tier players would think twice about being openly disruptive.
Still, the suggestion to always include the date, time and realm during a report is a good one, so that the GM’s may have an easier time handling stuff.
For the rest we’ll just have to keep reporting and ask for better moderation.
A friend suggested going to Goldshire to report a few profiles as a joke. I decided, sure, why not. Going through them, a lot of them are not as obvious as I experienced in the first month of my roleplay (went to GS because of AD’s reputation).
Let me tell you, the excuses from “Removing Trials from access to RP profiles” by the devs is such a throwaway to not to do work regarding it. 80% of the profiles I ran into that were ERP-centric, were Trials. And their ERP was so blatant and disgusting. The rest only had either their f-list linked, just posted or their f-list username there so you can write it out yourself.
Removing the ability of using RP profiles for Trials is a must, it’s the main way for ERPers to be blatant on what they want, the normal accounts are getting scared because they risk their good character getting in trouble.
Fixing the TRP and other rp addons(Or addons at all) so they dont work on trial accounts would do wonders.
Another thing, but that is probably more of a pipedream, would be to remove the ability to hide alts on armory websites.
This would just leave the select few who are just too shameless to care at all and that could be solved by more active moderation on Blizzard’s behalf(Then again, so could all of this).
They should since it allows trail accounts to circumvent certain restrictions.
Yeah, we need Blizz to step in for this really.
While we may be able to persuade the TRP creator to change, we’d then have to persuade the MRP creator, then the XRp creator etc.
And that doesn’t stop any of “those types” from making an addon just for trial accounts and their smuttery.
We could use with Blizz just stepping in and not allowing trials to use addons. Yes, its a shame for any legit person playing on a trial but i think the good outweighs the bad.
Pretty true. It would be a huge gamble if enough people of the playerbase would pass it. All OOC’ers might disappear, but it would be a Besthesda shotgun approach that directs itself towards the roleplayers sadly too.
Though I think the point that many have been agreeing on is that Blizzard needs to step up their game in terms of moderation on an RP realm. It just doesn’t work without them stepping in. Be it weird ERP centered profiles or disruption of roleplay.
I would absolutely not wish to have all my alts visible for anyone on the armory. Not for the sake of erp but because rpers can be downright creepy and incredible bullies when it comes to tracking people that have slighted someone else.
I have seen it first hand where whole officer teams tried to hound their members over such issues as activity or being in “enemy” guilds. It would create a really unpleasant environment for many people if anyone with a grudge could just go through a list of your characters and never leave you alone.
