I have a character residing on a deleted realm, Molten Core. The realm is no longer listed in “Change Realm” window, but the character is still visible in my character picker. The game does not let me to delete this character because it cannot switch to the Molten Core realm, because realm no longer exists.
I haven’t tested, but I’m pretty sure this leftover character takes up my limit of number of total characters.
