When will we be able to have more possibilities in character creation? Change height, build, age. It would be so much more immersive. So many people don’t play the human race, for example, because they’re just ugly and don’t look real.
Probably never.
Its took 14 years to char creation again.
We just got new char creation recently and now we have to wait for 10 years again atleast.
Hopefully so.
With drakthyr having the body options for thinner / thicker for them, I hope they put that into the other races as well.
I would also like a tail option for us worgen.
It’s already possible on some games, but I can’t imagine how crazy it would be on WoW to have more creative possibilities. Change the height (with scaling, for example a human male between 160 and 200. Human female between 150 and 180. A nightelf between 190 and 230. A gnome between 70 and 100. A tauren between 220 and 250.
We want to be able to choose the weight, the age, the animation when we walk, when we run, when we jump. Be able to play a child , an old person. We want to have so much more possibilities, and personification tools.
WoW is already a very good game, but times are changing and we have to evolve with it. We expect big changes with 10.0 Give us more than a new race please.
I think change in scale can be allow, let us scale 0.7x 1.1x OK? This will give option that is not hard to code in game, given already the engine and models. Scale is no problem this is why toy such as world shrinker exists and potion of growth now.
Yeah, it isn’t like the game hasn’t already received buffs/debuffs/toys that change the character model scale anyways for a set amount of time.
Height scale would be the easiest to do.
It’s not going to happen. There’s a reason why drakthyr humanoid models use already existing bodies.
On a related note, i got beta access this weekend, the customisation options for the dragon form is amazing. If only they could do that with existing models.
What the…? So many people don’t play human? Are they ugly? Human is the most beautiful and attractive race in WoW.
sincerely for me its enough…
Say what?
Have you been to stormwind? It’s full of Humans and some Night elves and void elves here and there.
And as for Ogrimmar, it’s filled with Blood elves. The horde humans
Slider bars would be good like they have on other games, rather than fixed values and pre-sets. The game will be over before this is ever implemented though.
Still waiting for them to fix the name lookup though, plenty of times I’ve had a green tick that a name is ok then when I proceed, I get the “Name is taken” error.
Exactly. A lot of people don’t play the human race, especially men, because they don’t look like the real thing. They look like doped bodybuilders. It passes for a warrior, but for a mage, for a thief, does it make any sense? Why do you think so many people play female night elves? Because the design is beautiful, and attractive, and it resembles the design of the cinematics, of the story. What I’m asking for is just the ability to have more character immersion with more creative choices that reflect reality. Did you get it?
I’m afraid the game wasn’t designed like that.
It’s of course doable theoretically but the way models are handled, the way armor sticks to the body, is to my understanding done on a per-model basis.
Think about chests for a moment, that could be rather silly. Plate with round cuts, literally wearing bikini on top. Or not even, if it’s a muscular male chest. And the holes just expand and shrink as you breathe. Or run.
Question is, would Blizzard want a full remodeling. After all, GW2 or Skyrim offers the options you request. Most of the old gear has been recreated or switched over the years, I noted them getting fluffier, actual robes like Skyrim, up from the strong canvas in classic. However that would mean dropping old transmog options, or having to recreate absolutely all of them. (Just moving the anchor points. Still!)
If only. We can dream…
Yes
Someone above mentioned simple scaling, they mentioned height, I wonder whether anyone dabbled with width scaling. I guess it would somewhat look like a blood elf. 'cause it might be a viable compromise. Size scaling as a whole exists already.
