Improving demo talents

Demonology is definitely one of the most fun specs in wow
but good can be better, and i think one of the things that can be improved in demo is it’s talents, some of them are really good, but some others are sleeping, not because of tuning but because of it’s weird rotation etc
the problem with nether portal :

Nether portal is one of the coolest talents there is, until you have to move or do a mechanic or in pvp , also it’s really weird that if you spend one or 3 shards on a cast, nether portal is only summoning one demon, and i feel scammed if i have to spend 3 shards on a hand of Gul’dan, it also costs a shard for no reason

suggestions for changes

1.The most simple solution is to just make it a channeled ability that spends soul shards and summon demons every second or so , kinda like convoke the spirits, it can be played in pvp this way

2 make it summon demons depending on how many shards spent

3 make it so it the demons summoned from the portal are implodable
there are no aoe talents in the last row, and this can make nether portal a choice in different situations than demonic consumption to avoid having the two talents compete with each other. and kalamazi said , that because it’s a shorter cd, demonic consumption will be taken over portal even if they did the same damage, because of mythic plus and dps check bosses/enrage timers

general talent suggestions :

  1. first row also shares the same problem, if all 3 talents are aoe, the choice here is about the numbers and not the situations, i suggest swapping bilescourge bombers with sacrificed souls and making it shadowflame damage so it can synergize with the “big dog build” of dreadlash and from the shadows
  1. many of the demonology talents almost require each other, like the big dog build or like grimoire felguard is always best because of demonic consumption,
    i would love to see them getting combined, this can spare new talent slots for future ideas , like it’s possible to combine dreadlash, fts, the legendary and the conduit into an "improved dreadstalkers " talent, same thing with demonic strength and soulstrike for the felguard , or sac souls inner demons and power siphon ( by the way sometimes using power siphon with inner demons gives you one shard because you there is some down time where you have one imp and not two )
  1. sacrificed souls is fine if it wasn’t a last row talent, and it doesn’t really feel like a last row talent, it could use a swap

This pisses me off. The talent should make it so you have 2 permanent imps, and if they die somehow they spawn at a rate of 1 every 12 seconds like now

before tuning and reworkind we need to fix at least current bugs: slow stat update, dismiss pets through portals, dogs not hitting target cause of geodata problems, pets dying from aoe (example: golem in spires), etc.
There are too much of them.

i just played a spires of ascension dungeon and i used an invis potion but the mob still sees my pets, casts an aoe spell and hits me while i’m invisble and causes a wipe

theese kind of problems at least we can solve:

  1. use mount while skipping whenever u can. pets are not pulling mobs while mounted. Wait till pets reach u and dismount after it.
  2. dismiss main pet before skip, and don’t use deffensive agressive mode. Even if your imp taunts extra trash they can insta kill imp and reset threat removing u from combat. But with def mode main pet will bring u perma combat.
    U can solve most of the problems.

2.5 min portal cd, that can’t be synched nor with trinqets, nor with talents, nor with covenant abilities. -_-

i haven’t tested it yet but i don’t think it being on a 2.5m cd will fix anything , yeah maybe it does more damage now but i don’t think it’s more than demonic consumption and i don’t think it fixed the problems or the inconveniences that this talent has
but at least they have their eyes on it, maybe it’s just the start of the changes and it will be fixed eventually

That’s exactly why are we laughing about it. Cause they removed 30 sec from reset time on paper, but in reality we still need to wait cd reset … so we basically use it on 3d minute.
They even don’t need to deep analyze, just watch kalamazi demo video there are couple of obvious problems, that should be solved long ago. And still we have… Quality of mess changes. Let ppl think that we are fixing something.

They just should have changed the Shard spending system… one demon for one Shard spend. So when you spend 3 Shards you Summon 3 demons.

If you ripped it on cooldown, it’ll perform worse as you wont get to buff the demons with tyrant. :slight_smile:

yeah it needs to sync with other cds , that’s not what i asked for tho

Besides everything else that has been talked about here I wish they’d bake the “Inner demons” talent into “Nether portal” giving it a passive portion. Also make the frequency it takes to summon demons scale with haste, meaning the more haste we have the more demons we pull through it with the passive effect.

I would love if Inner demons summoned 3 permanent imps so you can implode at will

I just noticed that the Demonic Core stacks granted from Power Siphon don’t overwrite old stacks. So if you have 3 DC when you use Power Siphon you only get 1 stack of empowered DC.

no there’s a cap at 4 if you actually read the passive spell it says that you can’t get more than 4, so that’s not a bug if that’s what you’re thinking

Sure you only get 1 more obviously, but you still should get 2 buffed ones.

I wish for a better Fel Lord… 2 Shards, 2 min cd and je is still ccable… what a fail.

Killable ok, but not ccable pls. The this talent wouldn’t be useless
