In 10.0, please return all daily quests to world quest

This is not classic, i like much better the wq versions rather than pick up and drop it, so please stop doing this in 10.0.

The wq system hundred times better than that outdated daily quest system.

i have no strong feelings on any of the options and i’m doing dailies across several expansions to re-grind 100 reps  i will say that WQ are generally easier to find though

I don’t mind a mixture of both.

Although I think a BFA/Legion style Emissary would be much better than go pick up the Callings.

But Daily quests have a place in the game. Although Korthia should definitely be WQ’s.

A combination of the 2 would be nice imo.

A little hub in a zone with some dailies. Preferably dailies that impact/change the area over time (a bit like they did with the Hyjal dailies back in the day) and give more options as the area evolves.

But they should definitely go back to a Legion style WQ system instead of this Shadowlands one. The Legion one was so much better, imo.

Do you know i cant recall the difference between wq in legion and sl?

Well there’s a few:

SL: Callings need to be picked up at an npc every day.
LG: Emissaries are just active - you do the appropriate WQs, you complete the emissary.

Then there’s the WQs themselves:

SL: Fewer WQs on the map and they’re more involved - sometimes with multiple phases.
LG: More WQs on the map and they’re generally less involved - quicker to complete.

Legion WQs also felt more rewarding, but that could be a subjective thing. AP was new and you used it for a cool feature and you got stronger. And many WQs rewarded AP.

In SL they often reward Anima, but that just doesn’t feel as rewarding. It’s a currency used mostly for cosmetic things as opposed to actual player power.

While I agree with the rest, I like that WQs are entirely optional, and to a large extent, dailies as well.

I get that. And I get that ‘big 3’ players probably feel that way.
I would like world quests and dailies to be a self-contained eco-system for world content. So basically… Rewarding ‘insert some currency’ that can be used to become more powerful, but ONLY in world content (so big 3 people can ignore it if they wish).

That would be nice, indeed!

if its daily quest to increase play times /player engagement…uuff --blizzard ur only encouraging BURNOUT

World Quests break the basic model of MMORPGs - or RPGs in general, if you like - that all action should be mediated between characters.

Quite apart from that, I MUCH, MUCH, MUCH prefer the format of Daily Quests given by characters we can relate to to the deus ex machina contrivance of World Quests.

Of course, but dailies and WQ are both used by the devs to increase play times - just like everything else in the game. However, WQ waste a lot more time than dailies. The format of dailies is: travel ONCE to a hub, then run around that small area for a bit to complete them, whereas WQ send you all over the map and back again, racking up a crazy amount of travel time by comparison, especially in Shadowlands, where the travel times are engineered to be unnecessarily excessive.

I like how they were excited about the calling system instead it’s the same thing as emissaries just the difference is that this time you gotta pick up a quest in order to do the exact same thing. What an innovational design.

I made a thread about this aswell in expansion release and i still feel the same, in summary :

Dis not classic yadayada, I end up doing callings on alts then forget to take them and its just so tedious and demotivating

I literally spend 20-30 minutes just picking up the callings on all my chars before i start doing any of them because i know i will forget thm, tedious!

Yeah, no daily quests at all is best. And return to the nice world quests from before or an actual upgrade of the system.

They promised us “World Quests 2.0” and this was “World Quests 0.25b”. Total downgrade on almost every front.

Daily chores CAN’T be as tethered as what we have today.

If I disconnect in Revendreth and I login the next day, I should be able to do a Revendreth Calling without an inane trip to the base, since I’M ALREADY THERE. That’s what makes the world “smaller”, all of those CHAINS that constantly make us do the dance the same way every day.

All of those annoying mobs that chain you constantly in the Maw and Torghast? That’s how the game is designed.

No freeform, all puppet strings.

Please no. You have your WQs let me have my dailies

emissaries >>> callings > daily hub
Its that easy.
and also:
artifact power >= azerith >>> anima/research bs

Running around for no real reason when systems already exists that makes it obsolete just sucks. Its lame and outdated.
Retail WoW has become an action mmo instead of a rp mmo more and more. Going back is just making the game feel unnessecery old/lame. Clasic is there for ppl who want to run around wasting their time.

I personally prefer WQs to dailies and I prefer Emissaries to Callings.

I see no good function in a system that requires me to go somewhere else to pick up tasks instead of just being able to go and get on with them.

the only thing annoyin is to go in the covenant base to take the quests and go back to deliver. nothin impossible anyway…

Wouldn’t it be Azerite >= Artifact Power? (I’m not putting the disastrous Shadowlands “lessons unlearned” iteration in the same scale)

AP clogged your bags like SL stuff, and required boring management to cram it into the (proper) recipient. Azerite really got the Legion system and actually improved it (well, part of it was that you just had one artifact :stuck_out_tongue: ). Yes, yes, you “had to” grind it, but the means of obtaining the currency, the necessity of its acquisition, or what it is used for, are entirely different systems.

Azerite wins any day (since it just works like any other currency, no hassle and no hoops). You get the thing, you actually get the thing you just got.

Repetitive stuff needs to be straightforward. Very repetitive stuff needs to be very straightforward.

There are pro & cons to both, and I think there’s enough room for both in WoW.

For instance did you give a try to the abomination stitching feature ? That’s a kind of content which works fairly well imo with daily quests, or at least weekly quests.

Dailies can be very annoying when it comes to the more day to day grind such as Korthia and the maw. You’ll usually willingly do the abomination quests because it’s mostly about tmog, there’s no real incentives to complete that content. The time wasted gathering the quests is understandable in that case.

On the other hand when you’re grinding Stygia or relics you’re usually doing it for the reward and want to be efficient. The dailies sometimes just feel like Blizz is trying to further pad your gameplay with unecessary steps. In that case WQs make much more sense imo.

The best format imo is still the BFA 8.1 assaults. 5 WQs in a given area, usually designed to be completed one after the other or sometimes both at the same time and with decent rewards upon completion.
