If the Worldsoul Trilogy is meant to be the lore ending of WoW, the climax of 20+ years of this game as well as the mercy killing of 10+ years of stagnant and uncreative stories and characters, let us at least be reminded in some way, of where we began.
Give us a couple of missions where as the guiding hand of authority we lead troops here and there, send peons and peasants to gather resources and establish a base of some sort. Not like the Garrison, but rather in a more open, RTS-style sequence.
Integrate iconic pieces of legacy soundtracks in the main OST at specific points.
Reintroduce themes and ideas from WC3 and WC2. I don’t know exactly which but I want to see them anyway.
I really hoped they would do exactly this in Battle for azeroth…
A call back too wc3 and its strategy game roots for the final ending of wow? Count me in.
It might not be the end of wow. But it will be the ending of allot of lore Blizzard has built up too until now when it comes too cosmic powers… the titans and the void, And the light.
I would’ve respected the RTS: they were primarily a 1v1 RTS with a campaign. The campaign were already doing as per of the ongoing story.
Can we be the units of a Warcraft 3 melee game?
Yes we can.
I’d have made it a PvP mode and looked to Natural Selection meets WarcrafT RTS. It could have been incredibly unique and interesting, and a mode where players really have to collaborate on a whole another level.
Instead, Blizzard completely forgot about PvP as usual and created probably some of the worst PvE mechanics in the game’s history.
Yes they wasted 10 years from our live in non-sense story and garbage feautures just so they can tell you to play 20 years more for a stupid cause and that is , for Azeroth."Imagine the developers keep telling us storyes about the world soul trying to deceive us from the truth from real things.
Why would i care if Azeroth wakes up or not,i can luve without, but it seems make sense in today marketing.
I agree with this, the real downhill started at 8.2, sso it only 5 years.
Half jokes aside, I don’t know how can they go on for even 10 years. not 30.
In my expereience they even struggled with the late expansions, to make something familiar yet original conetnt, they mainly retcon everything, with the cliched “they are not what you think they were in the past 20+ years” twist, white became black, black became whit, up to down, down to up.
They tried to make new likable supportive charcters, but without personality, most of them didn’t worked out. Like the Harrison Jones ripoff Rannan Korren (he might be more likeable with a diffent voice acting style…)
We defeated all the big noteable villains, saved Azeroth countless times, I don’t know how can they continue (considering the currenty quality of writing) for decades further.
They can always do the “Nippler-move”, pulling out another bigger, but somehow never heard of threat out of their back end, but the game would turn into a neverndig brasilian soap opera (partially it’s already one).
Personally, I think they should have ended the game after Legion, making a 2 expansion long final showdown between the Light and Void, good and evil, and then make WoW2 with a fresh start.
Yes and no.
Losing everything I have in WoW would completely and utterly suck.
But a new game with new tech and graphics and systems that fit this time and age, COULD be fun (it could also be horrible, mind you).
So with all things being equal; I would prefer to just keep WoW going because at least it’s a known factor and I already know that overal I like it.
