I do not understand this quest, you go around doing the most idiotic tasks just to get level 2 “Concentrated Flame”. A tedious quest line which feels just like ticking boxes. Either give us the Concentrated Flame level 2 automatically, or gate it behind a meaningful and challenging quest… It seems you are just adding content because your bosses have asked you … to add content. It seems you have no interest and no passion, you are ticking boxes and you make players tick boxes too.

I doubt a rank 2 is supposed to be challenging content tho, especially for the easiest essence to get your hands on
That’s just extra lore flavour, not fun but full of more teasers. If you really can’t stand it use another essence

Yeah what is the point of lore in a RPG.
Oeh I, on the contrary, wish there be more lore related tasks and tokens. But that’s probably just me.

The Concentrated Flame questline shows us that the Twillight Dragonflight is still up and running in the world. Which is the tying knot for future encounters, dungeons and maybe a raid and anything but pointless or arbitrary.
But sure, you be you complaining about 5 minutes of killing stuff.

If that pissed you off then just wait until you get to concentrated flame rank 4 quest.
My point is I am playing quite casually and his quest line which I picked because it was there, having no idea what comes next, lore or otherwise, is out of sync with my ilvl (410), as it was a non-challenging, just ticking boxes thing. Maybe this quest has been around for ever and I missed it, being it I only play casually and with a long break playing Classic and Diablo. But if it was intended for average ilvl 400 (LFR level) then no, it was cr*p.
It’s meant to be the default essence, not locked behind sheer difficulty. The “requirement” is the AP level, if that were moved or lessened, then a challenging quest line would be justified.
It adds lore, explains things, keeps the story ticking and also its a great source of AP for the effort. Nearly 2k AP for about 10 minutes work.

95% of content in the game ever since it was released was “non-challenging, ticking boxes thing”. Weird that you’re only picking on this quest specifically.
It’s one of 2-3 quests I did after a very long break, so I moaned 
I also did a few WQs for the 415 reward, "kill this one mob, ticking boxes again, yes (mob ridiculously simple and camped by 4-5 players), instant gratification though!
