In-game community

if you are going to put negative comments about a community and then dont expect negative comments back?

Posting on a WoW classic character on the AD RP forums about the PCU while being purposely inflammatory.

Yeah, never would’ve thought it was pre-planned drama-bait. Woop.

‘‘Hey ya all! I am planning to re roll argent dawn but don’t even roleplay or plan too! But daaaamn do i know allot about the PCU and the the content i don’t plan on doing and somehow really care how relevant they are about things im not even rerolling this server to engage in!’’

I could have approached it from a more neutral stand-point but I find it far more telling how a community (and well, people in general) respond to something slightly provocative. To me this thread worked splendidly, by now I’ve gotten my questions answered, I have a much better view on PCU as a group and even found some responses quite amusing.

If my approach is ethical/moral is a different matter, but it is without a doubt very efficient.

Love your transmog i just wanted to say><

The community and people find it equally as telling in return.

For someone who ‘‘never roleplayes and never planned too’’ This OP was very telling.

The difference being that I don’t really care how you view me, but glad to see you so involved

Oofh… okey then. If you say so.

is that also why you wont post as your self though? :eyes: cause you dont care so much?

You can mute threads easily and then you don’t have to see the spam bumps at all; it literally hides all threads you mute.

Debate bro virgin patter here

Like, you did make the opening salvo based on a very surface impression of forum activity.

If I entered a room full of strangers and proceeded to make a blanket statement about how I already have a negative impression of them because they’re all talking, then I wouldn’t be surprised if they were notably offended.

The thread could’ve been literally worded instead as:

Heya!

Considering rerolling onto Argent Dawn, used to play on it way back and I have fond memories of the community. Role-playing isn’t my main focus but I dabble and found it an awesome addition to a friendly server. Noticed reading here on the forums that an, to me, a bunch called the PCU seem to have a large presence nowadays (didn’t exist back when I was active on the server). Is it the same in-game/is this community something one needs to take into account/adapt to when playing on argent dawn, or is their in-game presence insignificant?

Regards,
C

This would’ve asked your question in a very non-biased manner without already presenting the bias already stated in the original OP.

Impressions are a two way street. Whilst you may not care about what individuals think about you, you surely (as a human being) could understand why PCU members might otherwise be a bit chilly?

I will stand by my statement that the PCU of today are actually a very pleasant bunch, despite what detractors might think or say.
