In-game community

Heya!

Considering rerolling onto Argent Dawn, used to play on it way back and I have fond memories of the community. Role-playing isn’t my main focus but I dabble and found it an awesome addition to a friendly server. Noticed reading here on the forums that an, to me, seemingly annoying bunch called the PCU seem to have a large presence nowadays (didn’t exist back when I was active on the server). Is it the same in-game/is this community something one needs to take into account/adapt to when playing on argent dawn, or is their in-game presence insignificant?

If you’re a PCU member offended by the above, all I really know is that you guys cross-bump each others forum posts constantly and that’s enough for me to have an initially negative impression of you. I may change my mind down the line, who knows.

Regards,
C

You choose who you want to RP with, so no one will force you to RP with us in the PCU!

In fact from your post here and the only reason you find us a “seemingly annoying bunch” is we bump eachother’s threads I would probably be happy you stayed away from me personally, it seems kind of petty.

Lol ok man

Lol, this should be an interesting thread, these are becoming more frequent, to answer your question PCU is like many communities, you get good and bad, some really bad and some really good, the one guild I was in…for my limited time there I enjoyed all the rp I engaged in and enjoyed the banter/convos on disc, another guild I was apart of that arent technically PCU but mix with them loads, well the PCU guys we mixed with there I also enjoyed the rp from it, so my own experiences in game have been positive, but there are plenty of people out there with shockingly bad experiences with the same community and given I know some PCU(Now former) and some people who arent PCU do have a habit of lying about members once they leave the guild I am inclined to believe other peoples negative experiences did infact occur and isnt just some evil “anti-PCU” propaganda, so its just one of those things really, good n bad everywhere and PCU isnt an exception, as for your comment regarding the bumping/border line shilling of eachother on the forums that is a thing yes, plenty of people find it pretty cringe but each to their own
Edit: Also to add, no you dont need to take them into account when playing in game if you dont wish, there are plenty of communities/guilds ect within AD, you could not rp with PCU if that was your preference and still find plenty of rp, it wouldnt restrict you, same as if they choose not to rp with specific guilds/communities, it wont hamper their members rp as they have enough people/guilds to rp with like other communities here on AD, not that I would advise having a “I dont rp with ANY PCU” type style as alot of my most fun moments in the 7 months Ive been back on AD was infact…with PCU rp’ers, so I would suggest dip your toes abit, find out for yourself and then make a decision.

Ignoring the usual “PCU bad???” thing, this last part is what actually makes me scratch my head. Is giving another guilds thread a bump a bad thing? We already tend to bump our own threads with recent events, so I don’t really understand what the issue is with doing so for an another guild.

Because being there for friends, supporting their guilds and RP with said “cross-bumps”, is something to give a negative impression with? Don’t get me wrong here, but that’s a weird mindset.

@Teepa/other PCU. And I find the behaviour sheeplike/sort of culty, think your friends response right after you demonstrate the behaviour I’ve seen in almost every thread here very well. It drowns out differing opinions, and ensures that other guilds don’t get the same space to advertise. You do you, but I find it very off-putting and wouldn’t want to be on a server where a mentality like it is prevalent.

@Sigtrygg. Thanks for the help! If we’re talking outside of rp-activities are they still a significant presence? Should I expect to have a PCU-member 50% of the time if I do a dungeon with only argent members for example?

So instead our recruitment threads should be left to die and be locked after 30 days of inactivity in favor of other guild threads being visible? There´s nothing stopping people from updating their guild thread regularly, even if it´s something like GM posting link to screenshots from events or just updates on what they´ve been doing.

I believe correct percentage is 47,85%.

It is a little bit weird to not expect the group you’re calling out to not respond. I think you had already made your conclusions before even making the thread so I’ll leave it at that. Good day.

:face_with_raised_eyebrow:
Bit weird to care about tbh.

Bit of a weird intro. Enjoy your time on AD regardless!

So I made a post with a question, so far 1 response has been attempting to answer the question and the other ~10 has been people who write pretty much the same thing just focused on drowning out anything even resembling criticism towards PCU. Glad I got my thoughts confirmed I suppose.

Anyhow think I, and any other person reading this, got your point 5 answers ago. How about PCU players leave the thread to people who actually want to answer the question I was wondering about now?

“I can’t believe members of the community I opened up with jabbing at responded to me.”

These aren´t questions, mate, they´re statements:

If you make snipes at a community, you can´t expect people from that community to ignore it.

Oh look, another thinly veiled “PCU bad” thread.

the pcu at least here on the forum only bumps their own guild threads and give each other support for the most part these days, As far as ive seen.

Sure, and you’ve responded now. Your opinion has been heard. Does your group need to respond with another 10 answers or is it possible for others to be heard? You can just ‘heart’ the answers already made if they say pretty much the same thing maybe?

Dude. 99% Of your OP was about and aimed at them though x) They gotta be allowed to answer for them self. They are free to speak too.

Sure, and how many times do they need to do so? Once, definitely makes sense. Twice, sure, okay. 10 times, maybe a bit excessive and time to leave the thread to people who are willing to answer how big of a presence PCU are in-game compared to the forum.
