Is it just my settings??
For some reason pressing esc to bring up the menu, it comes up absolutely huge compared with the rest of the items on the screen? My resolution is unchanged, all the other buttons are unchanged, but for some reason my menu is unusually large? XD

It’s very big indeed, compared to everything else (like the hunter pet bar or the portraits).

Yeh, it’s pretty big now. Overall UI scale in the Graphics settings affects it but that also changes everything else so rescaling it all is a real pain and some elements require addons to do it. At UI Scale 65% it’s about the same size it used to be.
Leaving it alone for now though in case they change it back. Don’t want to change all the scaling in edit mode just for them to revert it.

I’m also annoyed it is so big and in your face. I may have a large UI but that’s TOO big! I’m not sure why we can’t scale it, I hope they implement that as a change or a fix.

I thought it was weirdly big compared to yesterday. I hope they fix it, or give at least an option to scale it.

Feel like I’m playing 800x600 again with the menu size.

I get a feeling this is being prepared for the distance console players are from TV

It was like this in the beta too. I actually don’t mind it, makes logging out easier.
Everything else seems to scale correctly.

It’s big but I like it. Less chance of me pressing something wrong.

after playing other games to come back to this one, I felt like I was playing a 3+ that has huge letters and UI for easy reading.

I am on a tv in 4k res and it is still huge .
But of course the thing that could have used increase in size actually feels smaller ( the quest text) .
The spellbook looks minuscule and I can barely see what’s there even with 115% scaling .
The UI also seems to have scaled smaller .
My mouse also just went VROOOOM . I had it set to increase speed to almost max before patch . Now 2x is enough .
Also for some reason now I have black bars (empty space) on the sides of my screen when logging in , when this was NOT the case before .
Overall everything looks weird . Controls are Weird . Even movement feels weird now that my mouse speed is changed .
Overall too much trouble for no gains .

The drop down menu when you right click your player frame is also bigger. It’s too big frankly, it has to grow above the player frame so now you sometimes have to move your cursor up instead of down the list of options. Completely screwed my muscle memory (also looks a bit crap as it can just cover your whole frame).
Feels like they haven’t scaled some of these upgraded elements correctly.

I would just like to set a font size for all these things, or apply some kind of scaling. But all the text is bigger than I’d like.
Yeah, the Main menu is HUGE right-clicking on the player frame is also massive, I hope this gets fixed soon or an addon or weakaura gets made to fix it.
Mild annoyances like this really bother me for some reason
/run GameMenuFrame:SetScale(0.8) fixes the huge main menu still not sure how to fix the player frame scale
it also does not persist after a reload or relog ugh

Thanks for the command. I made a quick and dirty “Addon” to persist the setting after reloads etc.:
-
Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\World of Warcraft_retail_\Interface\AddOns\ and create a folder
-
Go into that created folder and create 2 files (Name.lua and Name.toc). U can choose the name u want
-
Edit the Name.lua and insert: GameMenuFrame:SetScale(0.8)
-
Edit the Name.toc and insert: InGameMenuScale.lua
Save the files and reload ingame. The game menu should be fine now
