Whenever I am doing voice chat with one particular person and whenever he starts typing I hear his typing so loud its like a 50 year old typewriter being used. We use voice chat without the push to talk butting but I was hoping he wouldnt need to resort to push to talk at the end.
Any advice about how he can somehow dampen the typing noise in the game are there any settings I dont know about.
He could switch to non-mechanical keyboard and move microphone away from desktop and position the microphone so it doesn’t pick up as much as background noise.
If he has Nvidia RTX GPU he can also try Nvidia’s “RTX voice” which can filter unwated background noise, too. It does not officially support WoW’s chat but probably works.

Discord also has some sort of noise suppresion so you could try using it instead of WoW’s voice chat. It needs to be activated manually in the settings as it is enabled by default.
Thanks for the reply!
He is just using built in microphone in his laptop actually, but trying out discord may work!
Keep in mind though that RTX voice does have an impact on performance.
I tried that beta noise reduction filter and while it worked in test mode, when actually speaking to people they can’t hear me.
Better to spend some money on a decent microphone then. Integrated mics are usually pretty bad. I would suggest some USB microphone or headset as they in my experience work more reliably than microphones using 3.5mm jack because of the varying audio hardware in the computers.
