Me saying and responding to this wont affect another person… but he is actively trying to have a player change the name without any real reason. So not in irony because it is different… also i am not offended more confused by the waste of this time to throw all the shade at a player who have no clue about it, probably just wanted to name his toon from someone he likes… then he has this mad one trying to have blizzard action the account… he not harming anyone so it should not be a bother. 
If you think a name is inappropriate, I think you should have the right to report it, even if the reason doesn’t align with your personal sensibilities.
It will then be up to Blizzard to deem whether that report is appropriate or not.
The motives for reporting someone are irrelevant, and if you knowingly roll an edgelord name, you should be ready to bear the consequences.
I know I’ve been whenever my toons have been questionably named and invariably forced into a rename.

Just seems so petty, like seeing someone cast a piece of chewing gum to the ground and then having someone across the street call the authorities about it… waste of energy and ill taste… 
If there’s nothing inherently offensive about a name, i’m not sure why you would bother reporting.

Whether your motives are petty is irrelevant, the reported name should be judged on it’s own merit, which is what moderation is there for.
Does he have a right to report? sure… Would he also have the right to report someone for casting gum to the ground? yes… but again… why bother? why waste the energy? Why spoil someone day just for this…? 
It is just sad.
That’s really all you need to know or bother yourself with.
Letting people go on about with their lives goes both ways.

You don’t personally get offended by the name, but you still want to report it “just in case”?
People are amazing these days… imagine if all this energy put into being butthurt on behalf of other people was instead used for something productive.

Well ok they aren’t really police, they’re the ones who didn’t make the police so got employed by the council to wear a costume that looks a bit police like and harass little old ladies who are doing their shopping if they accidentally drop a bit of litter. It’s a bit dystopian but gum dropping is a punishable offence here all the same!

Terrible analogy since a) it could very well ruin the day of the next person to come along and b) littering of any kind is deplorable.
You’ll be happy to know though that I removed my flag, was talking to a guildmate about it and they told me that not only does the actress in question actually play WoW, she also uses her own name for her character. It’s not the same person obviously (she’s US based) but if she wants to play using her own name then Blizzard forcing someone else to change their name (if it’s the same) is disingenuous.
We should invite these police you mention into this thread, they can have a celebrate with the OP.

When it comes to policing what other people do in situations like these, yes, I think the technicalities are the most apt measure.
I think the question you should be bothering yourself with is whether the name should be considered inappropriate to begin with.
I will no doubt have the authority booting in my door after this i am sure…
