Incapacitate and their differences

I feel that something needs to be brought to light regarding the incapacitate effect.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but as far as I know, we currently have three of such effects.

Imprison - Demon Hunter

Paralysis - Monk

Paladins repentance too - but im limited by two links.

All of which reads the same effect, however they work differently with aggro, with the demon hunter being far superior as it changes the aggro range to 0, which does not count for Paralysis or Repentance.
Is this intended or a mistake?

Imprison is considered a sap mechanically.

Paralysis and repentance are considered an incapacitate.

It even states so on the wowhead links.

Aren’t those three seen as “old skool CC” abilities…?
Can’t all of them be negated by damage, like Polymorph…?

The ingame tooltips does not however, which is what’s misleading.

Having to consult thirdparty information seems wrong.
