Coming from the n’th player, for the n’th time, with a request for the game’s directors and devs to increase the loot drop rate on Nathria and M+ dungeons, because we can’t take it anymore with no drops after clearing both Normal and Heroic bosses in the raid, and running a dozen of dungeons a day with no loot.
I am also calling for people that are frustrated to express their opinion here so that we may draw their attention: fix the loot or you shall have even more people quitting the game.
frankly i havn’t found gearing to bad. but i do pvp, m+ and raiding. i dont actually think drop rates been bad…but removing that bonus roll. that has really left a big dent. putting that back in with a slightly better gear/crap ratio would solve a lot of issues
i really want to know, who gave them the idea to remove extra loot roll and loot scarcity. was it asmongold ? or any other all-knowing streamer/youtuber ?
they need to listen to the community, and the community NEVER had problems with bfa gearing system. the problem people had was RNG, not amount of loot.
at the end of the day, most people doesnt like too much RNG on stats, but they do like loot. i personally dont care about the bfa-loot RNG.
but if you want to fix something about loot, reduce RNG with the stats.
this was the problem. not loot scarcity. loot scarcity = dumb idea that only loses subs.
i wonder if their next big idea is to remove lfr. because asmongold said so…
It’s not just Asmongold, it’s “plenty” of players that are so addicted to Classic that they demanded that WoW would have Classic elements and one of said elements was loot.
Those players believe that “loot” must be something that must be “earned” and not “given”, that “giving loot” is the equivalent of boosting a “bad player” rather than forcing them to learn their class or learn the dungeon.
The same type of players that believe that they speak for the whole community stating that “we” play for FUN and that “Loot” shouldn’t be the GOAL, but the friends we make along the way and the community we build…
Yet we make things such as RIO type addons where we seperate the community based on their activity. “Oh you didn’t do this dungeon and your score is small, sorry buddy, but we must block you from doing anything, you’re a bad player. But if you want, we can put you on trial and if you die once in LFR, or wipe us in LFR we’ll kick you regardless!”
Then again with the loot system: “Oh, you did 2 dungeons and got 5 loot?! I must report you for exploiting, you shouldn’t have recieve that loot because it’s not MEANINGFUL! Loot is to be EARNED, if it takes you 3 years to get loot, then it’ll take you 3 years to get it!”.
Ladies and gentlemen, when a person plays a game, they play to progress and if there is something that halts their progress, they’ll lose interest and once they lose interest they won’t finish the game less alone recommend to others, if you desire to play classic, play classic, LEAVE retail out of it, retail is retail, classic is CLASSIC, keep it like that.
sucks the classicandy’s had a say in anything frankly. difference is the loot in classic can be relevant for 2-3 tiers. so yeah loot being rare didn’t mater as much because its life span was far longer…when it takes 3/4 of a season to get a drop in say shadowlands and 2 weeks later its redundant its guna feel bad.
Exhibit A, no offense friend, but whatever max level character you have, you must’ve been as lucky as me with loot. But when it comes do doing our daily stuff to earn a reward, 35 Anima and 50 or 70 gold at the end of a dungeon or raid is -not- worth the effort.
You got a group of 5 people, all going for the same reward, LOOT, stating that all of them aren’t there for loot, then for what are they doing the dungeon? Spend time with friends? Good on them but probably one of them wants to have LOOT so that they can progress further rather than just stalling for no apparent reason.
Same goes for raids, 10, 25 or even just 40 people, expect a group of them WANTING a reward out of their hard work and before stating “Oh, but killing the boss is the rew-…” no, no it’s not the reward, that’s just an excuse to make the sting feel less painful at the end of a dungeon, I used the SAME excuse while playing Dark Souls when I lost 50k worth of Souls (Saving up for a good amount of leveling)… Felt less painful but it was still painful in the end because I KNEW that all that hard work went down the drain when I lost it permanently.
This is the issue. I would be perfectly fine with loot scarcity if my, say, bow was relevant for the next 2 or 3 tiers. it wont be. It’ll be completely invalidated loot in 9.1
If they give us less loot then they need to:
A) reduce the amount of RNG on the loot. i.e. dont have expansive m+ drop tables. or 3 necks from raid.
B) as well as A. Give us a system where we can change stats to the ones we favour.
Id be more than happy to have less loot given overall IF i got more chance at actually targeting the loot/item/armour socket I wanted AND allowed me to make said item better for my spec through a currency or whatever to change its stats.
It sucks when i get a 213 neck thats haste vers that is a 2% downgrade from a 200 crit/mast neck. That should not happen.
Somewhat yes, but its an misinterpretation. He complained about, for example, there being 20 different pairs of boots for plate with different stat combinations and cutting it down to like, 8 or 6 or so would make gearing easier. Of course you wouldnt have a guarantee to get bis stats on every item that way, but what he said was reasonable.
This sums it up basically. No one complained of the dropchances, they “complained” (no one actually did) about so many different items that BiS wasnt as obvious.
They again did something nobody asked for. Its an horrible change that took out a lot of fun and enjoyment of the game because they simply didnt understand what the community meant by it and its generating them short term profits because everyone is just waiting for their vault every week to get this sweet loot they have been starving for.
It is not fine.
Loot is on a weekly time gate.
I don’t care about drop chances because all the loot (aside m raid) is absolute rubbish.
10/10 of your loot you will get from the vault if you play m+
Raid you need to be lucky to get a drop but at least the drop has the same ilvl as the vault. Sadly if you just raid HC it is worthless ilvl as well
I think that all that effort with mythic and their affixes or raids with their coordination and time spent on wiping and learning is not paying off. Back in the day you had plain dungeons, later currencies and raids that were tough but rewarding. Now the only real way to gear up in pve is through mythic and then you progress in raid. Or you do pvp to progress in pve faster. The progression is lopsided imho. I would say it is not about fun at all as some basement players like Asmongold are saying. It is about enforcing a certain line of progression which can be fun for someone (Asmo) and not fun for many others.
If you go through all the trouble of making group and dancing through the affix hoops and get 35 anima in the end, you have low incentive to get back to the activity.
For me, game is about fun not gear but when game creates a setting that is punishing and unfair one chest at the end is psychologically disheartening, off putting and discouraging. There should be some tweak that stimulates the incentive. Now I just do 4 m+ and at least 1 hc raid boss. Enough for weekly vault welfare because 2 months from now all this will become obsolete.
Also, here’s what mr. Hazzikostas had to say in his “interview” with PC Gamer. Quoting:
“One big topic of discussion has been the way loot works in the Shadowlands endgame: We significantly reduced the rate at which players earn item rewards, but at the same time also stripped away randomness and tried to give everyone more clear goals to pursue and control over their progress towards them. When it comes to PvP itemization specifically, we’re really happy with how that’s playing out, but we think we can do more to make the experience of running dungeons and raids feel more satisfying when you don’t get a specific item you were hoping for. Otherwise, balance remains an ongoing focus, both through “hotfix” adjustments to the live game and through more involved changes to player abilities, and especially new Shadowlands systems like legendary items and covenants, which will come in patches.”
This would probably be the right answer to mr. Hazzikostas’ statement “We significantly reduced the rate at which players earn item rewards” since the second part of that phrase “but at the same time also stripped away randomness and tried to give everyone more clear goals to pursue and control over their progress towards them” makes no real sense.
Heck, even the weekly time gate is awful as you can’t even target loot.
You have to rely on the RNG to get the loot you want.
2 weeks in a row, I’ve had to pick off spec items… simply because it keeps giving me the same loot they gave me beforehand.
