Increase the conquest cap!

I can’t take this freaking low cap for conquest anymore
It was like 550 this week , is it only me or does that not seem awfully low?
Could they not just increase it to 1000 and we would actually be able to buy some gear each week , would be cool if we also wouldnt be that dependent on the vault for gear and upgrades , like when people get weapon first week , its just a automatic jackpot cause you get a huge advantage with how you can spend conquest then
Do others feel the same?

Don’t think that they would increase it at the start of the season but they should. Bored of facing tryhard AWC teams at 2.2 mmr when I’m chilling with LFG players.

Made a thread about this aswell and got a sh!tstorm at me becouse apperantly, people dont like playing this game, so if they have to play for more then 30 mins / week its unfair that no-lifers gets an advantage and they cant be competetive.

I agree with you, the conq cap is a plague that destroys the fun in the game in many ways. Can think of several better fixes but this is blizzards way of making you pay those sweet $$$ every month.

wow is an mmorpg. in mmorpgs gear porgression over time is a given. there was never a season without a cap in the first months and there will never be.

this would also force pve’ers to spam pvp because u could get full gear with it.

The cap is fine but not the amount of conquest up to cap , 550 is low.
They could easily make it higher and it would not pressure pve players into PvP for the gear , the amount of gear is not capped in mythic+ like it is in PvP and the nature of the ranks on the gear is a turnoff for most pvers , why would i bother with arena if i can just do +15 key that is vastly easier then climbing to lets say 2.1k

Historicly, yes, gear progression has been limited to ½ item per week. But thinking like that is stone age stuff.

The game has evolved to VERY far from that mindset that you should only get 1 item per 2 weeks.
Lost Ark is an MMO and they dont seam to suffer from this? Ofc the buissiness model is very diffrent with micro transactions to buy and upgrade gear.

Back in the day raiding was the only way to get the best gear, and it was the only content that were out there on a high end level. To complete the raid didnt take full raid gear from that raid. Not even half raid gear. When u finished the raid, the rest of the patch was getting and piece filled with that raid tiers gear and with a full gear set, you complitly stomped the raids.

Today raiding feels a bit meeh… Coulnt really care less. Tho that might just be me aswell couse i dont raid higher then heroic.
I get the feeling that PVP and M+ is the new scene in wow. And gear progression is no longer the main focus.
Now you want to get full gear and compete with timers and rating. So slowing down the gear progression just delays the “start” of the competition that is what people acutaly wants to play.

Bic if you enjoy not getting more then 1 item every two weeks, you should try out this wow classic they released. It will fulfill your idea of an mmorpg

well an increase in the weekly cap would be fine i guess. maybe not to 1000 points tho.
the diff between doin mythic+ and doin pvp is that in pvp u can buy all slot-pieces. in m+ the gear has to drop in the first place and u have to get what u need also. but ye it would only be worth for people that can get above at least 1.8k. so that would give pve’ers who are good in pvp a huge advantage being able to get full geared with quite high ilvl for early season.

u can spam same dungeon over and over untill u get what you need. You are stupid if you dont do that

it still has to drop and u wont be able to get full geared with that as fast.

ofc you will get full gear. You just run the same dungeon over and over untill you get what you want, then you move on to the next

Im also curious about your reasoning about this. Why would it be a bad idea to incease the cap to 1000 points?

Since in M+ you can get the same ilvl gear of not even better and probably with your best stats aswell. Mostly people dont want versa in PVE unless you are a tank. So PVP gear has almost no impact on the pve scene.

The conquest cap is not the problem, the vault is. People are already getting tier sets while some people are still 0/4. The vault brings unbalance. If we only had cap everyone would have the same baseline - I buy weapon first for more damage or armor to increase my defense. Remove rating cap, remove vault, make honor gear and conquest gear → gear with honor and get some extra power once you get conquest gear.

Make pvp gear >>> better than pve as well so full honor will be on par with full mythic so we wont have full geared mythic raiders dominating people who still don’t have full conquest.

The ilvl stuff have blizzard already fixed in a good way right? That you have a higher ilvl on pvp gear in pvp comared to pve gear. And vice versa. I dont really see a problem there.

The problem is the Vault AND the Cap imo. I have had sh!t luck on my shammy, 3 weeks in a row i havent gotten anything usefull in pvp and no set items even when i have had 3 chests every week.

So i will be behind gearwise to lucky people now and cant catch up. So for the coming 2 months i will be at a gear disadvantage.(for those that claim that this way is more fair for pvp)

The set items i aint that concerned about. Some will get lucky and get them in weekly vault now, but in week 8 of the patch we can all just convert pieces to set items. I think we are at week 5 now so 3 more weeks and everyone should be on par with each other on the set items scene.

Worst part with this low conquest cap is that if you have multiple specs on your character that requires diffrent stats, you basicly can not get the gear you need. You must level another of the same character. Witch in my mind is just so amazingly stupid so half of it would be enough.
Also if you are new to pvp and maybe dont know what your best stats are or maybe buy the wrong items, you will be behind and wont be able to catch up untill you have a full set of gear and more to spare for the pieces you bought wrong.

Idk, I don’t see how people doing +12 mythic keys and getting similar gear to fully maxed out honor gear (44960 honor if you would upgrade the cheapest option for all gear slots so it is most likely more) is a fair comparison?

Right now it is just a boring system. Who in their right mind would enjoy queing up as a freshly dinged alt for battlegrounds when you need to farm 44k honor in order to be par with PvE gear from doing a +12? If they would remove all ranks and just make it easy for people to get into pvp it would be more fun, you wouldn’t have as many unfair battlegrounds because everyone could get the same gear. Why would anyone defend this kind of system?

“Let’s just wait for 8 weeks before you can be on par with others…”???

i have some friends who do m+ and as far as i know it takes way longer to get full gear like every slot with m+ then it would take if u could just buy it with no conq cap.

season 1 pve’ers also did pvp to get 2.1 pvp wep since it gave them a good advantage over others. that advantage got decreased in s2 since pvp gear scales now. but if u would be able to get full geared with pvp because no cap on conq the advantage would be huge again. main stat has a bigger impact on dmg/healing increase and thus higher ilvl is prefered even with vers on it.

I agree, its mega stupid. You will alwase be behind. I thought the pvp was great in 9.1.5 when there were no cap at all but people grabed their torches and pitchforks when i asked why the conq cap got reintroduced.

End of dungeon loot for a +12 259 ilvl, full upgraded honor gear is 242 ilvl in pve. A +4 key gives ilvl 242 so with full honor pvp gear you are equal to a guy with full +4 gear in m+ for pve.
If you can push 1800 rating in pvp you get 625 gear for PVE and end of dungeon loot for a +14 / +15 is 262.
So yeah i would still think the pve gear would be better but its they are on par there if you have a full conq gear set at 1800 rating.
Tho probably with wrong stats since most dont want versa. For those that do, fine, then pvp is a good way to get pvp gear. Els its probably better to just keep doing m+ for PVE.

But an easy fix for that from blizzards side if they are worried that people will play PvP for PVE gear is just incease the diffrence in ilvl for PVE and PVP gear.

I dont really have a problem with pvp gear being good in PvE. If PvP gear is way BETTER then PVE gear in PVE, then there is a problem. But if they are about as good, i just think that is great, couse then i could acutaly do some pve with my pvp chars aswell if i want to.

You kinda make it sound as if PvE:ers will just waltz into the arena and 2100k rating the first week.

A handful of people in the world have that rating the first weeks.
Also, why does it matter if someone have a slightly better weapon for a week or two in pve at the start of a patch?

u said urself with 1.8k ur on par with +15 and since its way faster without a cap it would be worth it i think.
and ye there are people who play pvp and pve on a high lvl and for them the advanatge would be enormous.

well it mattered quite some for hardcore pve’ers. it was mad how many of em participated in pvp season 1 mainly to get weapon and trinket from pvp. “coaching” was at its peak at that time.

I still dont really see this as a problem. Will one team have a +1 or +2 higher key done for a few weeks? Does it matter?

And this is a handfull of people. I would wildly guess less then 5% of the player base. So dont tune the game around a minority of people that play it.
