I’ve been trying to avoid making this post, in hopes that Blizzard would fix the issue themselves a week or so after The War Within launch, but the issue is still present and hasn’t improved at all.
Every time I launch the game, within 15 minutes I have terrible ping increases from my normal range of 180, up to 1000+. It’s making the game unplayable and I’ve yet to see any improvements to it. It seems like other people are also having similar issues. For me personally it only began since the launch of The War Within. I hope Blizzard can take note of this and fix the issue ASAP so we can get back to enjoying the game. It’s incredibly frustrating having random delays of 5 seconds between spells and having to restart the game. Again, this was not an issue previously. I hope these latency issues that players like myself are experiencing get more attention so they can be resolved quickly.
Its not an ISP issue when multiple people in different countries with different ISPs have the exact same routing issue that has been happening since february. We had our topic with 500 replies closed down cause “haha we solved the issue” yet people still spike up to 10k ping regularly
i never said it was your ISP but since there is several hoops between you and blizzard’s servers then it is between you and the servers but i am so sorry that you think everything is blizzard’s fault so i wont try to help you anymore.
I’m also having issues with increased latency. It started on Thursday. It’s not as high as the OP’s but it is noticeable. I ran a trace route to one of Blizz’s EU servers and the spike occurs on the 12th hop (ae1-br01-eqld5.as57976. net).
same for me about 1.5 weeks ago it started to get unplayable with the lag, especially at the evenings, it can seem on for a min or 2 and acts up again, i cant do anything just as the season starts i had to sit out on raid prog and keys coz of this
i have also tried to use my phone internet with usb tethering and still had the same lag
and tried a different game and had no issues

VPN helps. Any of the popular ones should do a trick.
Its clearly a blizzards issue cause people from all over the world is having the exact problem, even people connecting from other regions who usually have around 100 pint now spike to 1k every so often.
I mean just glance at the forum, there is 7 topics about server lag in the first 20
