Nope its not. At first silithus didnt replace leveling, it was only an option for few endgame items. At second, you couldn’t get so much quests in silithus at once and it was not just braindead same running circles. Incursions are much casual (retail-like) version of silithus. It would be ok if this was just an option for some end-game bis gear or mounts (same as STV event) but it shouldn’t replace leveling (and also get “battle-ready” 6-set after finishing leveling) and shouldn’t be best gold farm in the game.
Sod p1 with the ashenvale event
Yeah it was good after they fixed the bugs and issues. Also it was killing players which is very dependant on how many other plsyers on map that you had to kill.
Hell even ashenvale pvp event were better pve event than incursions are.
On phase 1 of SoD, ashenvale “pvp” event.
Short answer: layer issues.
Long answer: people would layer hop a lot to get good layers for their faction. This led to a lot of problems, such as:
- groups being split into different layers
- event % progress bugging a lot
This last point was due to events across different layers taking different times to complete, since progress towards the 100% required to start the event (which was coded to start at the same time across all layers) was different across different layers. This caused bugs like % actually going up and down in multiple layers, leading to delays in the event starting and also quite often event being bugged when it started (the 1h timer would start but bosses would not spawn). Sometimes bosses would spawn but then despawn shortly after, leaving the layer event bugged for the entire 1h duration.
This is why the event got changed to start automatically on all layers every 3h, lasting for 1h, independently of how fast bosses were killed across different layers.
I had no problem running around and completing the levels as soon as possible. I hate questing and always hated it so i def. prefer the first one.
Nobody could ever show me a quest which would be interesting on the smallest amount.
It’s just time sink. A sadly neccessary bad.
(And no idk anything and idc about wow lore because i’m not playing the game for lore + i’m not into socializing with every random player whom i don’t care about. It’s not 2004 anymore when the internet was a new thing.)
That’s the game though. Running in a circle over and over again doing the same thing for hours…at that point what’s the difference between a player and a bot.
How did you count that? If you met 100 people in incursion on a 1 square meter - it’s not mean the all other 10000000000 square meters in open world are empty. Such an apex fallacy you made, jeez, people forced to do that for runes/items, it’s not mean they all enjoy that…
It’s a simple analogy, I see lots of people at a football match = they enjoy paying for it and being there.
Stop being such a drama queen.
Why are you even playing SoD then if you don’t enjoy WOW Classic content? Seems pretty stupid tbh.
I played Nightmare Incursions for about half an hour on release night then realized that wow classic sod was over. Wow classic developers from 2005 would never have allowed this kind of garbage to be released. I think blizzard did this on purpose! They don’t want wow classic SoD to be so popular! They create expansions to the current wow.
They want everyone who plays wow sod to go and buy the new expansion for wow that is running now? But blizzard doesn’t seem to understand that quite a lot of us who don’t like the new wow! We play wow sod classic because enjoy the first game!
Since when does BFD, Gnomer, ST as a raid and the upcoming reworked ones = Classic content? or runes? or ashenvale or stv and so on?
Your comment seemed more stupid tbh.
Definietly not for the 30 years old dog time-sink questing experience where i have to kill 10 wolves and only 10% drops fur.
Yes they are classic content. That’s why ppl are playing SoD because they enjoy classic. If you want boosts then maybe retail is better for you.
They could have done this in some funky version in Retail aswell, they didnt, so safe to say they choose Classic and whatever baseline there was there to do it.
If only there was a place where you didnt have to do that =)
How dumb is this statement? Why even launch it at all in that case. Money goes into the same wallet.
And that’s where you are wrong.
I always hated classic/vanilla call it whatever and luckily this isn’t because of lots of reasons.
However i am curious about the dungeon/raid reworks and new mechanics so here i am.

Of course RETAIL is the point, classic and sod only serve to attract old players, if they are already playing and subscribed then there is a chance that they will try retail as well.
Retail=more money via cash shop. Simple.
I’m amazed that there is no WOW token in SOD and ERA servers.
SoD is literally in seasonal servers of the wow classic era.
Correct. It’s seasonal that’s why it shouldn’t take 10 million hours to level from 1 to 2 instead should be alt friendly because of the new runes on every class.
On the plus side it puts everyone together so while waiting in the 1 hour bg queues you can get some honour to rank.
Then this game isnt for you
