Inevitable Pirate Expansion

Just to be clear i do not think this will be the next wow expansion but it may be the one after. This is what i would like to see. Booty bay to make a return with a revamp of the vale and making the original continents relevant again whacky dungeons similar to dead mines and the motherlode this could see an expansion of the lore to the blood sail buccaneers . The loveable booty bay this could be our neutral faction main hub similar to Dalaran / Valdrakken it would need some quality of life changes that new player hubs now provide but I don’t see that being to hard considering it is a coastal area plenty of space to expand. Booty bay is where we venture out to the forbidden seas to new lands with a new player housing feature which could be a customisable boat that we can control as a player and dock in designated locations. Whacky themes that include pirates ofc and why not some undead pirates and a kraken ? watch pirates of the carribean for some inspiration on the themes play assassins creed black flag too. The expansion would be about pirates sea monsters / Old gods and some more pirates

I wouldn’t mind pirates.

There would have to be a ninja faction we can earn rep and rewards with just for giggles, even if it’s only small.

If we can go five minutes without resorting to this boring topic, it’d be a miracle.

A pirate exp set in EK & Kalimdor would be sweet.
I’m not too keen on seeing new areas, would rather see a revamp of the old ones, with an overhaul to make WoW have better social aspects (maybe taking notes from Final Fantasy)

Instrument toys that you can play on with your keyboard, more emotes, retouching and updating old weapon and armor models like finally fixing the worgen manes clipping through head gear, and make the expac ‘easily’ accessible through the overworld so that it doesn’t feel so empty all the time. Make it worth exploring again, add easter eggs, so on… one can dream.
Also better weather. Would be nice seeing bigger storms and wind in the game

Why you type that loooong things… Just say your thing in 2-3 sentences.

You got 1 sentance buts is loong.

The store mounts point to it.

Though it would be surprising seeing how BFA was like half piratey.

Man I freakin love bfa

Save for the entire burning of teldrassil premise and most of the expansion content.

So much pointless character assassinations through the expansion.

I think we had a brief exchange earlier today on another thread lol, I forgot to reply then but I see why that would be annoying when it comes to lore.
I joined WoW too late unfortunately, my introduction to the lore started from SL (I had done BfA and WotLK when leveling up but was more focused on learning the game) and that already was too difficult for me to keep up so I’ve kinda checked out on that aspect.
I don’t know, I enjoyed BfA very much, both the areas and the overall feel it had

The annoying this is that they actually had a good setup for BFA. Just needed to shuffler the intro around a bit.

Like with Tyralion now back, and the horde preoccupied with a giant sword near their main base for their military might. They could have easily had Genn persuade Tyralion into sacking Undecity to vanquish the unholy beasts that are undead, thus naturally leading into the sacking of Teldrassil…

But no, tree got burned because fee-fees (and some irredeemable genocidal conpsiracy).

As for the main continents Kul’Tiras and Zandalar. Kul’Tiras almost perfect, only exception being the left-field Horde genocide in Stormsong (which was orignially intended to be an attack by the Quillboars). Kul’Tiras also gave us a wonderful reason to why the nation now was women dominated, because most men have died in the previous wars. Especially from Proudmores attempt at wiping out the horde in Kalimdor.

But then we get to Zandalar where we unfortunately got a situation where Rhastakhan was quite clearly made out to be an idiot king so that his perfect princes Talanji could save the day… Other then that, Zul was a fun villain and would have prefered to see him stick around for the patches.

As for the premise of Allied races. It should have been a reason to break down the race restrictions when it comes to factions. Horde could have poached the renegade Dark-Irons, Leper Gnomes, Defias/Syndicate and Shen’Dalar Nelves (There also exists a worgen pirate fleet not bound to Gilneas). While Alliance could have gone for High Elves, Grimtotem, Various troll tribes that has beef with the Horde, Any Goblin-cartel, the undead scarlet crusaders and so on…

Instead we got a few kinda rushed new races with notable variation in quality.

Aaaand then it’s the patches themselves x.1 was fine but x.2 and x.3 should have been their own respective expansions. And Azshara as a boss fight should have been her dancing around us while we in the end only chipped away 10% of her health only to be rewarded witnessing the release of N’zoth.

if they can top kul tiras , they should make a pirate expansion but if the main city gonna make us miss kul tiras then they can keep it

Could see a remake of Booty-bay and Gadgetzhan as the cities.

How to fit them in on the world map without transition issues on the other hand… Also an islands expansion might quickly have the same issue as both SL and BFA with it’s separate areas.

Im more interested in void creatures then outlaw rogues in funny hats.

After SL… Probably best to stay away from too much of the cosmic god knows what since the lore books are retconned each week.

Youre right but i mean how would pirates fit into anything? If were with them exploring were bound to find a big bad guy and if were against them its kinda like “watch out, he’s got a gun” pigeon throws a moon at him “phew, that was close”

Well like i say the only place that i think could rival kul tiras would be a modernized expanded booty bay for the horde and alliance. Mobile player housing with a boat that has a customizable crew that you can hire mine would be goblins and dwarves that sing shantys to me as i sail out to sea to the new lands that come with the expansion. A big no to loading screens. The boat could be made public or private public if you want to show off the boat you have or private if you dont want any other player to get on or be able to interact on the boat.

After Legion, Pandaria united and built a navy to conquer the world!

it will happen but i just hope they hit the right notes and realize we have exisitng potential within the lore for this and it could bring us back to where it all started with a mixture of new lands etc and the forbidden seas

Game was sinking from last patch of Legion: mostly players were looking an expansion based on Argus and the Burning Legion.

Instead of this we get wokestories based on wokecentaurs and wokeartisans.

This could be quite cool, with flying tree debris, signs swinging and NPCs hanging onto buildings and masts for dear life !
