Hello fellow RPers, I was thinking on learning more about the Shadow and the void, can anyone help with learning about it? Sharing links with the info and such? Maybe some in game scenarios, quests, books, entries or storylines I should go through to understand the reality of the Shadow and Void it self?
I’ll give you a heads up and warning that WoW has a very, very soft magic system that often blurs the lines and with very few rules that aren’t contradicted.
Indeed I’m not sure if Blizzard themselves would be able to lay out the system in a coherent and internally consistent manner if forced to write it on a page that wouldn’t contradict with what’s already established ingame, in the lore or in the novels.

I don’t even understand why the Void whispers, how it makes people crazy.
It expresses infinite possibilities as truth, a view of reality and probability without cohesion and structure in a fashion that is antithetical to mortal minds in incomprehensible chaos. It also manifests and amplifies the negatives of the mind, fuelling despair to the point of its manifestations inflicting it and leaving physical scars on reality. The touch of a voidwalker is intense with agony, horror and despair which is why they’re tanky, the subject of their attacks focusing all energy on destroying the offender to make it stop. Additionally, the one old god confirmed to die left behind elemental manifestations of negative emotions all over pandaria with enough strength and individual malicious agency to destroy whole towns.

The light is the sun shining upon you, sending warmth to your body and soul, the one big star of brightness and feeling good.
The void is the starry night sky, the infinite universe with all possibilities, cold and dark.
