Information on Shadowlands!

And, Blizzard is going to launch it’s final World of Warcraft expansion, Shadowlands.

Why final?

Well, as everyone is hearing about the promises that Blizzard announced to make them happen, we all saw that was just a lie to get players buy it early (pre-purchase).

Shadowlands will not be like Battle for Azeroth or Legion. You won’t have to grind too much, collect artifact power for every single alt, and you can actually have time to enjoy as many alts as you can. - they said.

Everything will be balanced, in PvE as much as in PvP. You won’t have to worry about anything, there will be no special restrictions (or not to harsh ones at least), and the choices you make will reflect on the role-play and not on strenght. -they said.

Well, the things are actually different:

  • You won’t be grinding Artifact Power but you will have to farm anima for soulbinds and new talent system for every alt. The Artifact has just been renamed

  • Too much gameplay on a single character will leave you in a lack of time to do any other alt you would like to play, just like in Battle for Azeroth. (all players have their personal lives and problems and every single one of those players need time for life and a game to relax). This is an ironic thing when compared to a tip Blizzard left on the loading screen: Remember to take all things in moderation (even World of Warcraft!)

  • With the variety of different kinds of spells players get on Covenants, researching them reveals there is no possible way to balance them in PvP nor in PvE even with boosting or nerfing them without changing their base design. (it even might be more unbalanced than corruption system in Battle for Azeroth)

  • PvP is fading and if Blizzard keeps this up they should consider deleting it since players aren’t looking into it anymore. The lack of PvP players exist due to major changes (deleting the PvP vendors and deleting stats that were made only for PvP player strenght: PvP Power or PvP Ressilience, and it was for nothing, because the system has been working fine by everyone for a decade). Blizzard, of course, returned vendors and published a test for PvP Power just to try to balance the classes, they said, and deleted PvP Power again. Returning vendors are useless without the stats, and again, like in Battle for Azeroth and Legion, PvE is something PvP players have to do in order to gear up, which is not a nature of choice like it used to be. PvP is the soul of the game and it sounded on the interview with Ian like he “hates” it himself

  • The choice of the Covenant, as mentioned before, will affect the strenght of the character, and not just the role-play and questing (as they said). There are too many “new talents” that have been put and all of them are specified to a certian type of gameplay and specialization selection. If some players dislike the way their character are going with the gameplay build or if they want to change the specialization it will be really expensive to do it all over again by jumping form a Covenant to a Covenant. This will be a problem more for PvE players who, for example, decide to play a paladin, but want to do Mythic+ with both Holy specializations (to have giant amount of healing that depends on a chosen Covenant) and Retribution (to have a giant amount of damage that also depends of a different Covenant than the one for Holy). The restrictions are even greater than in the last two expansions.

  • Adding too much content in the game (as some players wanted) is a problem for the greater precentage of players that have to do it all for their strenght and role play, but simply don’t have enough time to do it all. Shadowlands just added them more which might make players to just give up on a game (especially when there are players who left for various stupid reasons like being annoyed dealing with the mail that the Postmaster sends every day for dozens of times). Either way, players already started to confirm that there is not much to the end game like it was promised to be

  • Getting so much information on Shadowlands even before BETA has been annoying for great amount of players and they already got bored even before the release. This will not be the reason for them not to try the expansion, but it’s a negative marketing. The reasons are mentioned above

  • We all honor Blizzard for sending a big messege on #blacklivesmatter, and we are all proud of what amount of job they have been working on during the pandemic. In order not to get this messege wrong it will be said simply: Every other game industry and even console industry have been working harder and faster which puts Blizzard in a bad place and in a great competition. Players don’t know the internal problems of an industry, but the problems that are occuring in the world weren’t a problem for others who also respected the #blacklivesmatter and the pandemic restricitons. And there shouldn’t be a problem because it doesen’t affect any kind of software industry work process since it isn’t connected, and it’s a rare but a giant adventage to lead that kind of company in these times (knowing this information because of a possesion of a high management education). Blizzard could have at least work a bit harder and get the exact realease date (again, at least)

If Blizzard doesen’t change all of these things and say It was all a joke. You fell for it. Now get the product you are paying for for all these years it might shut down before the launch of the next expansion. For our all sakes and our advice to Blizzard: Don’t let it happen!

Another interesting story from the protests in the USA. Some people are seen holding a sign that say:

Death to the Alliance, victory for the Horde!
Return PvP or Riot"
"#^! the grind”*
“WoW player justice”
“Ian for president, trust me even him better than Trump”

And these signs are all in the crowd of angry people who did not come for that. These kind of signs inspired Serbian World of Warcraft players (where also protest were being held) to do the same. However in both contries a few people held up the sing that says: Death to Ian Hazzikostas which is very rude and really NOT COOL! If you are against his type of World of Warcraft management there is nothing you can do by saying that rude thing. I am sending a messege to those to calm down. World of Warcraft isn’t something you live from and it isn’t something that has to make you so negative. If World of Warcraft fails, it’s only a game for you and for him, that you wish death upon, is everything. So people, it’s really NOT COOL!

Thank you for your attention!
