Casting in melee just doesn’t feel good. I would much prefer if Infusion of Light made Flash of Light instant cast instead of reducing mana cost. This would also shift flash toward the melee playstyle and Holy Light toward the ranged playstyle, giving a clearer distinction between when to use what. Anyone else agreed, or maybe have some even better ideas?

Instant cast would be insane without increasing mana cost or lowering the healing done. But maybe let also Martyr heal the beacon with infusion procc.
Instant flash would be nice
But at the same time… it doesn’t heal for anything
And costs a lot of mana
Useless spell in my opinion, better remove it from your castbar.
Light of the Martyr is a bigger heal and is also instant, and costs way less mana and a small portion of health
Or not instant but increase the heal.
Right now holy ahovk heals more than flash of Light.
Holy is just so bad to play right now, I like the melee healer idea but we should be doing more passive healing when we melee, make crusader strike send out a burst of healing or give us back holy radiance. How am I meant to focus on melee/positioning/debuffs/cooldowns/partyhealth all at the same time, it’s a bit much is it now? Meanwhile Shaman can just stand there spamming chain heal or whatever it is they do.
Give me a 2H Hammer and make my attacks heal for a small amount.

I feel it would be alright considering IoL currently makes FoL cheaper, which ofc is a component that would be removed with this change. The main point is that casting in melee always feels bad and stops auto atttacks for the duration of the cast, even with further increased cost or lower potency it would feel a lot better if it was instant.
Almost every spell I cast is instant cast. If you are needing to spamm flash something is very wrong indeed
Yes you are right, FoL already has a very high mana cost penalty without IoL procc.
But making it instant wouldn’t change much I think. You will lose a gcd no matter if instant or not so better stick with reduced mana cost.
If you want an instant-casting healer with some dps numbers but no magic dispell, try out the Prot heal spec with Magistrate’s Judgement Legendary. Thats not a joke btw.
You do realize what he suggests would be a nerf and nothing else, sure an instant FoL might sound nice on paper but without the mana cost reduction his mana efficiency will go down and whatever the cast is instant or has a 1,3 sec cast timer it still uses up that global so his HPS won’t go up from having it instant his Mana spent however will.

Flash of light being instant would make it exactly the same as it is now since it costs 1 GCD with it’s cast time, and instant would still be 1 GCD, the only difference is that you would cast it while moving, but you’re better off casting LoTM instead.
I’d rather have infusion of light be as it was in BFA.
