Whenever there is a game update, it spends forever “Initializing”, with the progress creeping up as if I was using a 56k modem. Then, when the initializing is done, the download takes seconds. 150mb line up and down. Why is it taking so long??

It seems to check every file in case it needs to update more than just the changed ones; as if initiating a full scan.
was all good lately with updates and now I’m stuck af too and raid in 30 mins xDDD holy hell.
Try to set download speeds at 9999999 in battlenet,seems to work for some people,i still have 100 mbps to go,movie time till it’s done.
Who’s genius idea was to update wednesday afternoon, when everyone is raiding, and cannot server the dowload speed for client either, seriously this games is 20 years old now, when it would have been a good idea?
downloading with 10kb/sec, it was slow even 20 years ago btw…

yeah, i won’t be able to finish initializing before raid start it seems… 
ehehe after ini finished it now downloads with a topspeed of 150 kbs lol
Ye, I had that too. It usually just takes seconds, but something seems to be off today

It’s really fun to wait for hours when you have a fiber optic line at home with 1000 mb download and 300 mb upload
and the fun fact - if u just stayed in game all day - you could play right now.
anyone who had any semblance of life - and exited the game or wasn’t logged - BOOM - you dont play today because reasons, who cares about your raid.
I’m so mad rn… not cuz I can’t play because that happens - but it’s just the dumbest possible decisions re. updates they do all the time? Couldnt they force this at 2 AM at night ???

Currently sitting on nearly 2 hours to download 190MB patch. Topping download at blazing speed of 20kb/s
If it’s not a big patch and you’re mostly updated, you can often just skip the launcher and run the game via the .exe. You’ll have to enter your password manually, but that’s the only hurdle. The game should patch itself in the background as you’re playing and you can just open the launcher and let it do the initializing stupidity when you’re done playing.

should be clear by now that the game is meant for sweatlords without a life these days 
coming home from work to see that a ton of people already sit in town with 1.8k rio and getting no inv as a healer with ilvl 603 for a +4 dungeons anymore is quite annoying, not gonna lie
