Anyone else having trouble downloading right now? My Bnet said there was an update for Wow, but now its just… stuck… on initializing, and the same for my friends.

All my friends are ingame after 2 min… ive been initializing for almost 1,5 hr now and its only at 10,63 / 50, 38…
With this speed i will not be ready before end of 2024…

Yup. Sucks.
Indie company. They redesigned D3 into D4. They “invented the wheel” in Plunderstorm and now they dont have enough developers to run a service that is paid in advance.
Question for Blizzard moderator/legal: If we are denied the access to a service should be deducted from the service price, right ? Well if that happens in a serious business you are good to pay…

Try to start the game directly from the WoW.exe, it worked for me.
didnt do anything for me… Just did the same and started initializing from 0 again…
Just noticed this too after having closed the game. Then I just re-entered by using the exe and bypassing the launcher. Works fine and it probably just background downloads while I’m in the game then.
using wow.exe fixed it for me too
Oh this happens all the time, especially on Linux.
Try killing agent.exe in the task manager. Yes, all of them. If that doesn’t work, try rebooting. If that doesn’t work, complain a little louder on the forums and maybe it’ll work. Or share your screen with someone to prove that it isn’t working which will, obviously, magically cause it to work. 
It’s a result of agent.exe crashing or locking up usually. Does it all the time. Worst ruddy piece of software that ever was.
But I don’t know how much longer battle.net will survive anyway - and if it does, the app will die with it. Despite its incredible brand, now Blizzard is owned by Microsoft and most of the team is laid off, and Microsoft has XBox and Steam, and they want their games there. We’re already seeing it with many of Blizzard’s games, and I’m sure WoW will be over there soon enough, too.
Yeah there’s always the option of skipping Battle.Net completely. I just wish WoW could patch itself in-game again, like it used to do.

I have this issue so often when there’s a new update…nothing I’ve tried so far fixed it.
I just wanted to play a bit before going to bed…it’s been over an hour still initializing like a snail. Just before I decided to do a view quests before calling it a day, I played another game, which ran through a 4GB update in minutes. sigh
At this point I wish that every time Blizz pulls in my sub, all it shows is “Initializing” and it goes up cent by cent by cent…
I’m calling it now, it’s 10:50 PM on my end.

Happened to me too. Throttling the download speed in the options improved it (I set it to 50000), but it still took a while. Two of my friends also complained about it. We’re all in Germany, but that is probably unrelated.
the download doesnt even start thats the problem, its just calculating for hours even tho its only a few hundread mb
Same here. Launcher has been stuck on "Initializing (332/422 MB) forever now.
Same happened to a friend tonight, took him 1,5 hrs to get the download done.
I have my own way of dealing with this - for some reason when i have this problem on my wifi internet i tether net from my mobile phone and then it skips this problem .
Dont know why and what is different but it works every time for me
