We getting off topic to the thread poster, could be too many physics within the map and too many flare, can’t tell but for me i see too many objects in the map compared to other zones, might be that which cause extra rendering and i might be wrong.
Weird way to tell the World… of Warcraft
You own a 4080. And play at 4k resolution.
oh no…only 90 fps…
I haven’t noticed any difference tbh. My set up seems ok with it, and it’s definitely not as good as yours
Wow there a lot of trolls in this thread adding absolutely nothing to the discussion.
I noticed this as well just after I zoned in, Emerald Dream spikes my GPU usage and temps up way more than any other zone, only really equivalent to Ardenweald.
God gives the toughest challenges to our bravest heroes. Thoughts and prayers, stay strong.
It’s insane how many petty and just weird people there are on these forums lol, they’re purposefully reading this as a brag rather than a statement which would’ve been meaningless without listing the hardware and the results.
Of course 90 isn’t bad, but it is extremely bad when the rest of the game can, as far as the GPU is concerned, go to 140-200 at the same settings at all times.
I think back then particles were the biggest offender, but they don’t have much of an impact here. It seems liquid detail and compute effects make the biggest difference after some more testing here.
I’m taking about how much more demanding the zone is than the rest of the game, but it’s a hard concept to grasp with a perfectly polished smooth brain.
It doesnt really matter the GPU, I got a 4060 my friend has a 4090, same FPS in ED depending on the server , population , events taking place, time of the day etc
And the human eye can’t perceive beyond 60 fps. So what are we even talking about?
What Ardenweald and Emerald Dream have in common?
That’s right! particles and fog! both of which are notorious for rendering since idk 80’s or whenever.
Doubling data points in 3d = eight times more data points.
example:
100x100x100 = 1000000
Let’s double that
200x200x200 = 8000000
There is no some magical optimization which can to solve that. So yeah, just drop those few settings to medium and enjoy your FPS.
I play on a 5120 x 1440 screen, which takes up roughly the same resources as 4k
(I’d argue some games run better on my 16:9 C2 at 4k)
It runs perfectly
And that’s “just” a 3080ti
Aye that’s mince.
I’m on a 3080 Ti as well pal and I’m noticing issues at 3440x1440. Power draw and temps are a bit wild compared to every other zone.
Yeah the official forums are a strange place indeed. Full of… interesting… personalities.
I don’t know why folks feel the need to engage with irrelevant snark instead of just scrolling past the post if it’s not relevant to them.
Haven’t noticed an increase in gpu usage on my end, Ryzen 7 5700x and a Rtx 2060 super oc, 1080p and I maintain round 70-80fps there with everything maxed out and my temps stay around 50-65 degrees, slightly warmer than usual which is normally around 45-50 but still well within safe limits for the card, perhaps install Msi afterburner and undervolt your card, I’ve also got my afterburner profile set to have the fans go constantly at 55% which helps keep the card cool as well, obviously it will speed up as it gets warmer but hey it works for me

It runs perfectly
What does perfectly mean lol, it’s a meaningless statement without the numbers and compared to other zones, and especially for a game that’s very CPU bound in general and doesn’t approach “perfect” performance in the best circumstances.

I don’t know why folks feel the need to engage with irrelevant snark instead of just scrolling past the post if it’s not relevant to them.
Yeah it’s wild. I’m not going over roleplayers’ forums and posts to post useless snarky bs about something I evidently don’t care about.

And the human eye can’t perceive beyond 60 fps. So what are we even talking about?
This has been a meme for decades now but I’m sure half these forums still believe it.
This is probably irrelevant, but whats your RAM speed?? afaik, Intel CPU’s can ‘get away with it’ on lower RAM speed, CL, etc but AMD perform better with higher RAM speed. For context, i have a Ryzen 3600, 16gb RAM@3600mhz CL16 and a GTX 1660 super GPU. due to my monitor limitations, i have had to cap my FPS at 60 on 1080p and havent really had any issues apart from the occasional stutter (blame it on my bad ISP).
noticed some stuttering in ebgs too after patch while doing the weeklys imagined it to be addon related as had nothing of such before the latest patch
Only just been in game, I between 100 and 120fps in valdrakken, 1440p all settings maxed
Theres something wrong with my pc I reckon.
Best I get currently is about 34.
