so I was looking through the forum for information about the insane title grind and found a blue post which said that u can grind the rep on one char and complete the Steamwheedle Cartell on another so now im wondering if this applies to all exalted reputation required for the Insane in the Membrane Feast of Strength.
For this achievement you’ll need to reach exalted reputation with Everlook, Gadgetzan, Ratchet, Booty Bay, Darkmoon Faire and Ravenholdt, and honored with Bloodsail Buccaneers on one character. The achievement progress is character-specific, not account-wide.
My suggestion is to first get the Bloodsail reputation to honored (or exalted if you wish to get the separate feat of strength for that), and then grind the Steamwheedle reputations in the Lost Rigger Cove in the eastern Tanaris, as the pirates there don’t reduce your reputation with the Bloodsail upon being killed.
as I already said there was a post from a Blizzard employee which literally said the opposite so im really not sure what is actually true.
Can you link that post? When I farmed this achievement it had to be done by a single character, and nothing I’ve found on Wowhead seemed to indicate that this was changed to being an account-wide progress.
yea thats the blue post
Ah, I understand now. Well, if you’ve reached exalted with the Steamwheede factions on your Death Knight and then got the reputations down due to Bloodsail grind, they will still count towards the Insane in the Membrane achievement. You don’t need to get them back to exalted in order to get this achievement.
And if you don’t want to grind them back from hated to exalted in order to get the 100 exalted reputations achievement, you can just do them on another character. However, you need to have them at exalted on at least one character on your account in order for them to count towards the 100 exalted reputations achievement.
oh ok I got it then was written kinda cofusing but i definitely have some char which already grinded Bloodsail to honored or whatever is recommended for the Feast.
Guess I’ll continue then where I got the most progression already.
I hadn’t intended doing Insane at all but went a bit mad with rep grinds. Now find myself thinking I may as well. Is the only way to get Bloodsail rep up by grinding Bruisers? I haven’t got Shadowlands yet so if that’s the case I’m kinda screwed
Yes, that is the only way. However, there is a way to do the reputation grind without hitting the max level. Once you get to the last part of the Booty Bay questline, you’ll enter a phase where Booty Bay is under the attack from the pirates. In that phase the bruisers will be at your own level and far weaker than they normally are. You can farm reputation with the Bloodsail Buccaneers easily by killing them.
Almost sure I did all the phased quests years ago but I’ll check anyway. Thanks
Edit: I went back to Booty Bay and found the bruisers are low level and so I guess I’m at the phased thing (haven’t been in BB in years).
Now I have a dilemma. Do I simply grind Bloodsail and get Insane on this toon or do it on another character (rogue)? Just asking because I’m unsure what way losing the Goblins will affect 110 Exalted Reps when it comes around
You can be exalted with goblins and bucaneers at the same time on one character btw.
Yeah it’s the pain of having to grind the goblins back up though. Might do it completely from scratch on my rogue who’s only just turned friendly with Goblins
