OK, this might’ve been talked about a bit butthe situation looks like this.
we heard that “threads of fate removed forever”/
but… somehow i managed to trigger them on any char without me doing anything special except going to oribos on max level alt. so i thought they didn’t remove them, right?
Well, turns out this is incredibly stupid. If you skip SL completely until lvl 60 and THEN visit oribos - you can auto trigger threads of fate choice upon entering without any bug-force or any “workaround”. literally just pick the quest and skip maw - boom threads of fate.
Well, turned out i dun goofed on my dk alt and i visited oribos before lvl 60 that locked me out of threads of fate permanently. to grab mogs or whatever i’d need to redo like 80+ quests of campaign to unlock everything. no skips, no covenant, nothing.
not biggie cuz i can roam SL on any char tbh, it’s not an issue of “omg my game is ruined”… but it’s annoying nontheless.
Now, I decided to open a GM ticket. after a few days the human GM (after first AI response) said they "double checked everything and assured me that threads of fate are removed for any character that hasn’t triggered them and starting them is impossible.
Well, due to prepatch i can lol-level any stupid alt while farming mog so… I hit lvl 60 on a mage and… i went to oribos… and I triggered Threads of Fate.
So basically, to trigger Threads you have to NOT choose chromie TW in SL, you can’t randomly visit oribos before or do any quest.
otherwise you are locked out of threads forever.
And yes, while doing quests in Oribos on a locked out character - you can get a breadcrumbs quest to go to the fatescribe that used to switch the thing… but it won’t work fo you.
AITA or I think that Blizzard is “weird” about this? Or is it a bug they somehow didn’t fix?
most importantly without circumstancial rumors and evidence, any players can’t really find out it unless they learn it the hard way. This is dumb.
