On top of everything else mentioned , you also need to be aware that the lariat proc only works from elemental gems , which illimited diamons are NOT a part of . So not only you can only have 1 illimited diamond equipped , it is useless to put it into the lariat .

You can put in Illimited Diamonds into the Lariat but they don’t do anything at all?
I don’t think it could be any more clear other than putting a big fat font in all caps saying “YOU CAN ON ONLY USE ONE OF THESE” there. The description “Unique-Equipped” has always existed in the game since day 1 on any item that can’t be equipped in more than one slot, and has always meant the same thing. It’s especially common on rings and trinkets.

You do get the bonus of the gem , that is the primary and secondary stats , but the lariat proc does not happen from Illimited Dimonds , it only works from elemental gems .
Read comments here to get a better understanding :

Never ever vendor or delete any item that you got with hard/time consuming/expensive content. For example you never vendor any item you looted even if it has undesired secondary stats on it until the season ends. Who knows, maybe one day you will need it.
And never vendor or delete white “unique” items. Surely you will need it in future.
Yes, basically. When you’re requesting something that’s this specific then you should make sure that you know what you’re asking for, and that the person doing it does.
You wouldn’t ask a chimney sweep to clean your windows, would you?
I thought the gem was completely useless as described by the person.
Even when I specified for the chimney sweeper to clean my chimneys I still got a dirty chimney because I didn’t know which chimney sweeper to get.

Who told you to craft that gem? Are you trusting that person or a random troll on the forum? How did you consider a gem with +75 primary stat useless that you are allowed to carry only one of it by reason?
Based off what he wrote I thought that the primary stat didn’t even matter considering it wouldn’t procc.
You can only trust what you read:
Equip: Your spells and abilities have a chance to empower one of your socketed elemental gems, granting 499 of their associated stat for 12 sec.
This is a very clear indication.

What is not all that clear is what an elemental gem actually means . As I mentioned before , elemental gem does NOT included primalist gems crafted with illimited diamonds . Tested this for myself , had lariat with 1 socket and primalist gem socketed and it never procced .

The Primary gem wont Lariat proc. The Lariat also procs gems outside of the ones socketed into the Lariat. Only 1 gem proc can be active at a time.
Lariat is not properly worded out and had to be figured out when we got our hands on it.
And? What is your point please? It only procs one of your socketed elemental gems already? It doesn’t say “it will proc illuminated diamonds”.
Don’t mislead people on the forum. This is toxic behaviour.
