When did this change come… Never had issues before now, my warlock gets locked while farming Straholme, but can’t do anything on alts in the meantime during the downtime…
This is extremely unfun mechanic.
Would make very little sense to have an instance lock if you could just switch character and keeping going whenever the previous one had lock

Eh, about 3 years ago when classic was launched. I assume it was also in the original but I’m not sure. They added a lot of extra barriers because mages were farming SM, ZF and Maraudon, selling boosts and flooding the economy.
Has been in the game for years now.
It’s actually the botting that was the reason.
I never said the mages weren’t bots… but minor detail if it matters to you ;p
Yeye, there were also some rogues and paladins.
