I am already in touch with Penkelly, I have a Tidesage in his community as well.

I agree, a cooperation effort would be pretty based! There are a plethora of opportunities I can see as well. It’ll be sick!

Brother Loaken here has a pantheistic interpretation of the Tidemother. So he doesn’t believe the name refers to a person or individual diety, rather it’s a term of resoect/endearment for what he perceives is a divinely guided interaction of natural forces - the sea, the wind and the lands of islands. Similar to how people use terms like “mother nature” but dont mean a literal woman mother figure necessarily exists, rather it’s the name given to the delicate interactions of the natural world.

He still believes these divine forces have some kind of traits though, like shipwrecking the disrespectful and awarding favourable winds and yields of rain to the pious. There just isnt a single face behind it all for him. Effigies of kraken, fish and such as used to provide a symbolism rather than depict a literal truth.

Nice, Clem has a similar view. It’s very spiritual I reckon, rather than the outright worshipping of a deity. With that said though, Clementine does refer to the Tidemother as ‘she’, despite not believing the Tidemother is an actual sentient being. I also realise this is more of a personal interpretation I have about the Tidemother and the lore surrounding it.

Clementine as a character already existed before BfA and this whole Tidesage/Tidemother thing came around (that’s why I chose monk as ooc class back then. I figured mistweaver animations/spells suited best for what I had in mind - never in a million years did I link mage to the sea/water theme haha). So despite having to tweak things a little with the new lore regarding the subject, her view/stance in regards to the Tidemother hasn’t changed at all. It just all has a name now!

Aye. Loaken also uses She and Her when referring to such, they’re terms of respect and in reference to the forces being like an overarching maternal force, nurturing but fierce. Not dissimilar to gnostic Christians etc who may use He and Him but don’t mean a literal male individual in the sense we understand it.

Yeah I totally agree on monk also. I feel the whole mists and wind themes fit nicely with Tidesages, even brew masters given we see brother Iron Hull tanking like a boss. Swap the brews for tinctures/cheeky rum barrels and breathe of fire for a saltspray concoction and you’re away. It’s how I play it!
