Why do we have to slog through that incredibly boring *Prey* and that awful campaign to get coid island portal? Can’t you ensure that PvP players—who don’t want to waste their precious lives playing this bots campaign—can still access the endgame content?
This is one thing I really like about GW2. You can start playing PvP right after finishing the tutorial and never have to do any and I mean any PvE if you don’t want. And you can even get most PvE rewards just by doing PvP because there are reward tracks that give you different rewards as you PvP and PvE rewards are also included in those tracks.
So, no. But I also don’t complain that “I am forced into PvP to get some myth track item from a 4-week quest chain with simple tasks such as simple participation” like some other people did, same as you, just not PvP players but PvE players.
You and those players both belong to a very small minority of people that take an issue with these things. Just saying.
And see here the reason why many players despise PvP: the attitude of the PvP players.
“PvP is better than PvE, PvE is just fighting against bots!”, “You don’t PvP? You must be scared!”, keep your playground insults to BG chat, where they belong.
I went to farm some elemental materials in Wintergrasp & got attacked while nowhere near any objective… I stood there & let whoever it was kill me.
When I ress’d, I saw the same player & took all my gear off… they still attacked me like a mindless, rabid pitbull.
From that day on, I vowed NEVER to go anywhere near PvP again, as I had no way to know what level of psychotic nuttah I was likely to be facing.
You may say that it’s the kind of thing players can switch on & off, but the fact that it’s there, in the back of players’ minds is way too unhinged to contemplate… and I have mental instability (Asperger’s/ASD), so I know what it looks like.
With code writing being as complex as it is, some PvE fights are very well written & need a LOT of thought to get through… and not just RWF!-level Mythic Raiding…
