Introducing Boost channel

Dear Blizzard!

I would be very happy, if you can implement a Boost channel inside a game, where people can offer they boost spamming 0-24, so trade chat can return their original purpose, like selling-trading items.

So basically my point is, that blizz should make a new channel, where boosting people can advertise their stuff, and leave trade chat alone. If spamming trade-chat, silence and ect will take action (similar as Group finder advertise).

So if someone looking for a boost, they simple join this channel, and look around, while players who dont care about that, can leave it.

I think its a win-win situation for all.

It’s a good idea, but Blizzard won’t do it. They don’t support these type of services and by providing a communication channel specifically for it, it would make it appear that they do support it.

I use the addon Badboy along with a plug in called Badboy_CCleaner, the latter allows you to add key words to the blacklist like “Mythic boost” which means any chat containing the words are automatically filtered from your chat.

I see. Thats really sad. I think this would be really a big and healthy improvment for the game, and for everyone else (both boost spammers and others).

Thx for the tip about the addon, I will check it out later.

Not entirely true they support it because they let them run wild on all channels without even stopping the spam boosters use not just trade but they promote it on /say in major cities if they don’t support boosters they would have ban :hammer: them a long time ago also awesome I just noticed it you are on my realm greetings there .It has become an Epidemic just like the plagued blood incident.

Support <> Against the rules.

Offering and/or using boost services is not against the rules.
These services are not supported meaning that if you were to use a boost service and not get the service you were offered, Blizzard support will not refund the gold paid.

Hmm I see well thank you for the detailed info I will use the bad boy add-on I found a purpose for it now :+1:.Still boosting ruins the economy of the game cause professions are useless now even more then they were before.

Yeah. There is a range of ambiguity in the word “support”. Your original answer was worded perfectly, except for that.

Perhaps “Blizzard do not make official provision for these types of services”? Words really are hard.

Don’t forget, the people advertising would have to use it exclusively, and I can’t see them not using trade chat, especially seeing all the other stuff that goes on in trade chat.

Does anyone actually sell stuff through trade chat anymore? I’d imagine most people just put it on the AH

They would not use it if they started getting confirmed and increasing silences for doing it.

LFG used to be crammed with boost ads. Not so much any more. I think the same treatment would work for Trade. But a) people do have a right to boost and b) as Shammoz said, as soon as Blizzard sets up a structure for boosts to go through, they are in some way officially “supporting” them, with consequences down the line.

I just wish they didn’t support them at all is that really too much to ask from Blizzard?.

add also to your filter ‘‘gold only’’ ‘’/w for info’’ ‘‘dnd’’

No they don’t, they allow it when it’s for gold, because is just an in-game currency trade like selling a mythic titanforge BoE (so it’s not bannable), but they don’t support it because if you lose your gold they wont give them back to you.

Do it at your own risk

I don’t think this would work. sure the average person would probably try to advertise there, but then find out the majority of people wont be in the channel as they dont like want to see those kind of sales. The really obnoxious spamming bots simply would go on making new lvl 1 chars to spam with in the trade chat. Because it reaches more people and they clearly already don’t give a f as they already keep making new lvl 1 chars to bypass ignores and reports

Actually it’s nothing like that, you don’t get something back in your trade window so it’s very easy to get scammed.

Again, it’s not supported as nothing actually changes hands straight away.

That’s exactly why i said: “do it at your own risk”, if you get scammed Blizzard will not give you the golds back. That’s another example to say that it’s not supported by Blizzard.
