Introducing DungeonGuide – your role‑aware Mythic+ companion

Hello everyone! After running plenty of low‑key Mythic+ PUGs during Dragonflight Season 4, I noticed that even experienced players sometimes miss key mechanics for their role. To help with this, I’ve been working on DungeonGuide, a role‑aware Mythic+ companion that surfaces the most important boss mechanics at the moment you need them. It’s not a replacement for learning the dungeons—there are many great video guides—but it’s a great reminder in the heat of the moment.

What it does

DungeonGuide automatically detects the dungeon and encounter you’re in and shows a concise panel of tactical reminders tailored to your role. Each entry is hand‑written, covering calls, interrupts, positioning cues and more. It’s designed for Tanks who want to lead with confidence, Healers who need to plan their cooldowns, DPS who care about mechanics and groups learning routes and key moments.

Key features:

  • Auto‑detects your dungeon and boss. The right guide appears automatically.
  • Role‑based notes. Separate entries for Tanks, Healers, DPS or everyone.
  • Concise tactical reminders. Calls, interrupts, mechanics and positioning cues – just the essentials.
  • Configurable and movable UI. Adjust fonts, colours and row spacing; move and resize the panel anywhere; settings persist between sessions.
  • Manual override. Use /dg or the dropdown to open any guide manually.
  • In‑game editor. Version 1.3 introduced a full editor so you can tweak or reorder entries, change role tags or add new ones on the fly.

How it works

When you enter a dungeon, a Guide button appears; right‑click it to move it, and left‑click to open the role‑specific panel. To test or open a specific guide outside of a dungeon, use the /dg [ROLE] @ [ENCOUNTER] @ [DUNGEON] slash command; for example, /dg TANK @ Head Machinist Sparkflux @ Operation: Mechagon.

You can access the editor via the ☰ menu on the guide panel. It lets you edit text, change roles or types, hide entries, reorder mechanics and reset encounters back to default. Jump entries can be added or edited here too, with a TARGET field that links to another section.

Why use DungeonGuide?

DungeonGuide avoids information overload by keeping things concise and role‑specific, helping your group stay coordinated in Mythic+ runs. Guides are regularly updated and you can adapt them to your group’s strategy using the editor.
