Introducing the World of Warcraft® BlizzCon Guild Clash!

And lets keep it that way!

I can simply play classic while the housing related content draught plays out.

You worry too much about things that won’t happen, my friend.

Catering to the 1% as always while ignoring the rest of the playerbase.

“Catering to the 0.1% is making an event at blizzcon showcasing high level gameplay like every blizzcon or like every big video game convention ever” ?

Its like people are so stuck in some of the dumbest argument, they lost all logic.

You can just ignore it if the event doesn’t interest you since it had no effect on the game in any way shape or form & continue leveling/doing whatever you want.

I do recommend going outside tho and leaving the 0.1% bad echo chamber

Have them compete in argent tournament jousting, PvP pet battles and PvP dragon racing.

While I agree it’s often an echo chamber, some balance decisions are made for the 0.1%, sometimes to the detriment of the rest of the community, which is why many are not overly excited about another ESports event that may or may not bring more weird changes.

Its an event for the attendes lmao
Its completely disconnected from the game.

Also what changes ? Dragonflight has been the most casual expansion probably ever.
You don’t even have to raid the highest difficulty to get the best gear. They give loads of cosmetics as well ad creating events & story quests every new patch.
People.just vomitting the same nonsense everytime anything esports comes up with absolutely no substance whatsoever.

If you care remotely about balance in the video game you’re not a casual player so i don’t understand the obsession with the top 0.1%

Why not transmog showoff instead of esport nonsense?

The thing is Blizzard, hardly anyone actually gives a toss.

Its not even esports lmao its a streamer/top guild friendly showmatch for blizzcon attendies instead of actual esports tournaments LOL.
There’s no esports at blizzcon apart from the OW World Cup.

Just proves my point

Ok fine. Why not transmog showoff instead of esport like event?

People can to vote and top five transmog-ers can to receive unique armor set and rest of the playerbase can to receive recolor version.

Something like that.

no one cares about wow pve tryhards on redbull

Exactly.
Those obsessed 1%ers will do ANYTHING to win and people see that and go: Oh, that works?! We must now do it too.

The 1% should not be given soapboxes in such a way because it’s dangerous for the community at large and the game itself. Just ignore them.

This feels like a bit of a strawman given that I didn’t mention anything about being casual or not.
Regardless though, apart from many balance changes being made directly because of or even during MDI or RWF, I know MDI specifically has very much impacted my experience playing M+, because many try to bring a strategy that barely works in a hyper coordinated and professional group to a PUG then get mad when it inevitably fails. Sure, there were some cool strategies that came out of it, but overall I think it’s done more damage than good by way of making people think certain classes are not worth bringing in M+ because they weren’t used in the MDI and silly routes that would never work in a PUG and so on.

Just to be clear, this is not the fault of MDI or Blizzard, this result is on the community, however given that it is known that the community reacts this way to ESports many are not happy about yet another ESport-like event that may bring about silly shifts in player perception and/or balance changes.

Less people care to watch a transmog contest at blizzcon. There’s a reason why its not done. There’s a cosplay event if you are interested. But the asmongold’esque type of transmog contest are incredibly boring to watch for the vast majority of people. Especially in person.

??? that’s false tho. There’s a meta in literally any game. It doesn’t necessarely come from the 1% etc. Its just the nature of the game just like there’s a best item to fish, there’s a best mount like the yak so you have transmog and repair on it etc people will naturally flow towards whats best regardless of where they come from.

Please show us what kind of strat people use because that can’t be further away from the truth. I timed a +27 this season and we literally use routes that the community at large uses. People pushing 0.1% stuff use very different routes/do very different pulls etc. For your weekly 14/17/20 nobody ever requires you to do what rank 1 players do ever unless they are absolutely delusional.

Again there’s a meta in every game. There’s strong & bad stuff in every game. That has nothing to do with the 0.1% or the top because people will simply always look at whats broken vs whats not.

TGP happened a few weeks ago & i’ve yet to do any of the strats they used in any PUG i’ve played so far. Literally nobody uses the same skips, same routes or tries the same silly insane pulls they do in any of the keys i’ve done from my main to my ungeared alts doing weekly 14s.

All that proves that some people are upset others get to enjoy something they don’t understand while they think it takes away from the game when it doesn’t.
If they cancelled the guild clash then gg nothing else happens instead & we don’t magically get more content to do in game (when this expac has seen the most content at a faster pace its ever gotten in the last 10 years lol).

I get that some people aren’t interested but that argument doesn’t make sense to me. I bet most people who watch sports on the TV can’t play at the high level of the matches they watch either

We have lots of armchair experts ofc when it comes to Sports.

They have a Cosplay competition every year which is even better. There are some spectacularly creative people out there.
