Invisibility hack (multiboxers/botters)

so you all have probably come across a few of these already.
Sometimes a lone herb bot, mostly a druid, or a whole train of characters, all moving (jumping, herbing etc) at the same time, so either using banned software or plain botting.
Their “newest” trick is to go instantly invisible as soon as they are targetted, or another player comes near them.
It’s NOT stealth. While you hear a stealthing sound as they go invisible, they truly vanish (so you can stand in the spot where they should be, but they’re not there stealthed, they’re GONE), and they stay invisible indefinitely (so not a pot or spell) until the player who was near them or targetted them has gone offline or left the zone.
I got to test this, as there was a bunch of these (with multikeystroke software) apparently doing the same quests as I was, and every time I came close to them, they vanished in this way and only reappeared once I moved away AND relogged.
Can you please do something about this.
I know you rely on reports of players to find hackers and botters, but it’s very difficult to report these guys if I can’t target them.

I also saw a huge druid bot train, from a quick glance they were named “avocadobots” and several other names all containing the word “bot”, but I couldn’t report them because they vanished and the report window just closed.

So you see, the botters are so confident they even name themselves bot, because they know they can’t be reported.
They are just lauging in your faces now.

If you can’t report them the normal way, send a mail to hacks@blizzard.com. Particularly in this case where they’re obviously using some program to remain invisible. Mention in the mail one of the characters’ names, realm, date(s) and time(s) when you saw the invisibility thing happen and what it seems to do.
Every bit of information like this helps blocking botting programs.

Hello Ithyrea

Considering your description of the situation there may be another explanation to what you noticed, as it sounds like the characters that you are observing may just be phasing.
This would account for being visible at a distance and disappearing when you or they get closer (as you enter the phase parameter).

They shouldn’t be able to make themselves invisible, but phasing can certainly make it look like it, and can also make more difficult to open up report.

In any case, if you believe a player may be botting or exploiting the system and you are unable to use the right-click report option, definitely email hacks@blizzard.com as Ananda suggested with what details you can (Character names/realm/approximate location and behaviors) so we can take a look.

Thank you!
