So after the story of the new patch, something was seeming off.
Everyone is talking about how bad writing it is for Varynoth to go from enemy to friend in the spawn of one cinematic, but WHAT IF that was NOT the case.
What if Vyranoth, was not an ally, but a spy helping Iridikron’s plan come to fruition? Let me present my case:
- Fyrrak and Iridikron:
Through the book we know that Fyrrak was the oldest of the primal Incarnates, but Iridikron was their leader. This suggest that:
- Infighting was present in their ranks and potentially bad blood between them
- Iridikron might have taken the role not through sheer strength, but through planning and strategic prowess.
If Iridikron has connections to the infinite dragonflight as we are shown, AND is such a big threat, then it is safe to assume that it was his plan to CORRUPT Fyrrak in the zarralek caverns.
Fyrrak might have not be aware of this and marched right into his trap. After that it was just a matter of time for Iridikron to pave the way of Fyrrak’s next steps (and his downfall in case he wanted him taken care of).

Vyranoth’s Role:
While Vyranoth came to us in valdraken as a friend, we accepted her on the word of Alexstraza. One possible explanation might be for sure her change of heart, BUT a 20000 years war and the betrayal of the dragonflights (from their own PoV) seems like alot of bad blood to forget.
But what if Alexstraza made a mistake? What if Vyranoth’s true intentions were to infiltrate the Dragonflights and help them get rid of Fyrrak (which has proven an uncooperative and fickle ally) and right after that obtain for herself a fragment of the “Aspect power” that was NOT of titan origin but of Azerothian origin. -
Iridikron’s Master Plan:
And while all this was going on, Iridikron was away working on the OTHER side of his plan:
The Acquisition of an artifact from the timeline AWFULLY familiar with the DRAGON SOUL, something that OH SO HAPPENS to be a perfect vessel to contain the powers of an aspect (like history told us).
Having both the artifact that we let him escape with, AND the aspects having their power returned (and a traitor in their ranks), his reward is within his grasp, with ALL of Azeroth’s heroes oblivious to his machinations (or almost all).
P.S: Yeah I was pretty bored and trying to make sense of the story and how it is unfolding.
