Ironweave Mantle not dropping from Arena Spoils in BRD

I’ve been farming the Arena Spoils chest in BRD Cataclysm for the Ironweave Mantle and have now completed 222 without seeing the item drop. Historically, the drop rate has been recorded as:

  • Classic: 33%
  • TBC: 30%
  • WotLK: 29%
  • SODS4 data: 23% (lowest estimate)

Using the lowest rate of 23%, the probability of not obtaining the item after 222 attempts is astronomically low 0.000000000000000000000006%

This suggests a possible issue with the item’s availability or drop rate in Cataclysm Classic. The absence of patch notes mentioning changes to the drop rate and my extensive efforts lead me to believe this is a bug.

Please investigate whether the Ironweave Mantle is still correctly included in the Arena Spoils loot table and functioning as intended.

Zulian Tiger had around 0,6% drop rate it took us around 1,5 years on 3 characters each every 3 days till WotLKC end to farm 2 tigers for both of us.

Iirc the ironweave set is unavailable since cata. The reason wowhead still shows that it can drop is that they never (to my knowledge) remove loot data and instead just keep adding new data to the table. So what you see is just a diminishing over time drop rate which in reality is zero. You can confirm this yourself by checking other loot tables with items that are unavailable in cata.

Addon called ALL THE THINGS has special Tooltip hints and list for gear removed from the game with patch. Like most of old Scholomance items being removed in half of year with the release of MoP, when instance would be redesigned along with Scarlet monastery instances.

I ran a lot of theese in MoP Remix, so much so that started forgetting the original ones… Time to farm some transmog for collection there, while Cata lasts.
