Is a complete rework even possible?

Well i made this statement based on other expansions, there has not been any expansion in which a class changes were made early and mid expansion. Class changes always happen a month or weeks before a release of a new expansion.

Class changes are always made in prepatches to a new expansion, this has been the case in the last 15 years and it is even stated by the director in one of the Q and A, he said that a mid change in expansion is not possible.

Yeah, I was just referring to the reworks that they do which really aren’t necessary. Example could be the changes they made to shadow priest between Legion and BFA trying to frontload the damage so the class wouldn’t suck in M+.

They destroyed the fun of the class until they basically just reverted to Legion spriest with shorter voidforms. Utterly pointless changes that made the class feel unplayable for months and it accomplished nothing.

Blood has always been tank ever since Wotlk as far as I can remember.
It had some dps features that were removed later though.

By the way, for the people trying to be smart saying “no reworks mid expansion!1!”

You want people to voice for a change when the expansion is over?

By then it’s already too late.

Blizzard doesn’t make changes on the drop of a hat like you’re so quoting, you have to let them know about 6 months in advance for them to prepare and get a plan of action. It happened with the azerite overhaul or have you forgotten?

DKs actually have a pretty solid foundation. A complete overhaul is way too extreme. I can’t say much about Blood, because I don’t really play it, but Frost could use a buff. Definitely doesn’t need a rework. Unholy is fine as it is imho.

Frost needs rework for level 100 talents, that spec would be far more enjoyable without relying on one spell that is on CD most of the time. Some number tuning and i’m making Frost

Nope, at the start of Wrath Ice was the tanking spec.

sometimes yes, a lot of times no. the MASSIVE changes they have done sometimes, (survival hunter maybe being the best example) just can be too much for a lot of people.

i think the mantra needs to be:
“dont change just for changes sake”

but we know how little blizzard listens to reason :frowning:

Back in Wrath all specs were tank and dps. Very OP but apparently very fun.

Nope, I played blood dps in Wrath and Cata as alts. All specializations could do both and with the talents tree I had fun, even didn’t mind frost dps (too much, it still got more boring) in MoP when we still had ghoul and unholy dots to apply. Also 2 runes of each. WoD was the last step in destroying DK for me. complete seperation of spells, no more talent tree and 6 frost/unholy/blood runes to make it easy.

Cata I switched between blood and frost talent trees, remembering farming Keal’thas in blood especially. To keep myself topped. Right now? Well:

  • Blood, I didn’t like all out blood tanking all the time.
  • Frost, it’s a dumb spec now. Few melee abilities which you spam and a few huge CDs that are boring.
  • Unholy, it has the pets I want! But I can’t stand playing a dot melee.

So it’s a dead alt for me, well considering all Dks are undead it seems fitting.

DKs are not THAT bad, just others are slightly better. DK at best needs a bit of numbers tweaks, not class overhaul.

After WoD basically.
