I’m a returning player to TWW, and I’m looking for a relatively easy to play/not too high APM class.
I’d prefer something that’s not overly complex, but nothing braindead easy either. I’ve played Ret Paladin and BM hunter an absurd amount in the past so I’d like to steer clear of those two classes, and I know Frost DK is considered to be the other easy spec, but I’ve never really enjoyed the rune system that DK’s have.
I’d prefer to be melee and having the ability to tank and DPS would be preferable, I’ve never enjoyed healing so a class having that as a spec isn’t important.
After doing a bit of research myself, Arms warrior is what i keep coming back to, alongside Prot warrior as an option for tanking, though prot seems to have a high APM, from what i can gather it’s from pushing Ignore pain off the GCD a lot, I guess i could just bind that to mouse wheel or something.
When it comes to DPSing, I prefer slower specs, or at ones that don’t have a 1 second gcd, being very spammy (like demon hunter). Something with around 50-60 APM would be perfect. I love being able to dish out big singular hits too, rather than lots of fast weaker ones.
Thoughts? Does a Warrior sound like the class i should check out?
You want a low-apm melee spec with a Tank spec available.
That cuts it down pretty fast. Windwalker? UHDK? According to https://www.simulationcraft.org/reports/TWW2_Raid.html they also have low APM.
But I can’t argue with Arms.
Monk is something I was looking at too, though I’m not 100% sold on Brewmaster, given that it’s one of the weaker tanks right now from everything I’ve been reading, lacking self sustainability, and they seem to have a bunch of button bloat which put me off as well. Windwalker does look fun though.
Unholy DK is out, not a fan of the runic system, which is a shame because I love the fantasy of the DK.
The tank spec doesn’t have to have low APM, just the DPS spec as that’s what I’ll primarily be playing probably 80% of the time or so.
Yeah, that’s one of the things that put me off Brewmaster too. Brewmaster fans point out that it works exceptionally well with healers, and they are right, but you can’t always assume that you will have a healer who works well with you.
Well, at least your list is very short now.
It’s a shame too, because I remember playing a Monk in Legion, i think? And i absolutely adored Brewmaster.
Here’s hoping Brewmaster gets some tuning (and hopefully a spec tree rework, seems to be the consensus amongst monk players that Brew needs it), and then I might try it out again!
For now though, I think I’ll try out Arms.
