I guess that’s true, but we are also not aware of the upper limit of titans
We’ve only been able to compare titans with titans but that still doesn’t tell us anything, remember that they can just peel an old god from a planet like it’s a worn bandaid (not good for the planet as we found out but still possible)
as for what the first ones are, idk, I have my doubts, little ingame hardline excludes the first ones from being the name the titans are known for in the shadowlands, but that might be me reading too thinly between the lines
As for Argus vs Denathrius, idk. if these covenant leaders are supposed to be titan tier Blizzard isn’t really doing a lot to make them feel titan tier.
I’d reckon Argus would fold Denathrius into a pretzel outside of the shadowlands, but that’s pure speculation
I think it’s worse. With Algalon and Argus, the world simply ends. Game over, that’s it. With Mechagon, the world continues, in a quite sorry state, with titan creations reverted to their original forms, and everything else gone. For the “survivors”, that’s a worse outcome.
This is true, Aman’thul ripped out y’shaarj from azeroth, but that was before sargeras cleaved the whole pantheon then norganoon just saved portion of their essence, the titans whom imprisoned sargeras with the help of argus’s essence aren’t exactly fully powered titans like before
No, and not by a long shot. If you want to go by boss mechanics, Argus was about to wipe out all life in the universe (if we can believe the tooltip). That is a much greater threat than Algalon. Well, you could just say Legion as a whole is the biggest threat we’ve fought, since Sargeras was about an inch away from actually destroying Azeroth.
So was Algalon. He had already started the reorigination process. “do not interfere” he says. We got there the exact moment to stop him.
This is true, Algalon was “only” going to reoriginate Azeroth, leaving rest of the universe be (for now, he had already reoriginated countless planets).
Defeating Argus required heroes using the most powerful weapons able to be wielded by mortal hands (some of those are really hardcore, capable of wiping out nation-states on their own), then being empowered by the entire Titan Pantheon… And they still failed and needed to death rush him.
The TRASH before Aggramar were Titan Keepers, boss-level enemies in their own right in prevuous expacs. I feel it often goes unrecognized how powerful Legion Player Characters were. Likely the most powerful we will ever see a group of mortals in the lore.
Meanwhile, Sire Denathrius was beaten by a bunch of dudes with regular arms and armor. Didn’t even require any outside help from an NPC or titan tech shenanigans like it usually goes for end bosses. You could make the argument that being soulbound and using some Runeforged armor pieces gives them power beyond a regular mortal… But that’s still a far cry from direct Titan help and Artifact Weapons.
Eternal Ones and Titans are not even remotely in the same league given the relative power levels required to defeat them.
I agree with you, these ‘‘eternal ones’’ seem really boring, they just pop out of nowhere just like jailer, and its funny how blizzard just tries to make them look titan level and as, i mentioned above i think argus was just rushed so they can end the expansion, I still think that Malygos’s focusing iris in terms of raw power was more realistic than legion’s ending ^
Yes but we never fought Sargeras (directly). I didn’t mean Algalon was the strongest one but he was reoriginating the plantet when we got there to stop him. Probably just a minutes away from total reset of the plantet.
