Is blizzard ever getting rid of trade - "services" it ruins the game and the economy

the trade chat is overwhelmed by ppl selling services.

these gold prices are ridicilous only way to really get the gold is to buy tokens…

so yeah its a big cash cow for blizzard
but if it ruins the game its bad for blizzard

hope blizzard soon realizes this.

Come on. Boosting services are here to stay and you know it. As you already realized, the boosting is good for Blizzard’s token business. There is a 100% chance that we will have to live with these services until the end of World of Warcraft. No chance in hell that Blizzard will ever change their mind on this again.

if its actual trade report them but if services channel nothing can be done

yeh ur prolly right and its prolly blizz employees sellin the boosts, its sadge really.

ahh well thats why its dying

  • The Trade (Services) channel should be by default off.
  • Enabling it should require that a player completes a tutorial on how to join and how to leave a chat channel multiple times (not just once).
  • There should be NPCs in cities that give players the option to disable specific chat channels without going through the Settings.

Specific words or variations of them (“wts”, “WTS”, “W-T-S” etc.) should be autofiltered in Newcomer chat for Newcomers. Guides should be able to see those messages in order to be given the option to report the player in question for Advertising in a wrong channel.

That is not the trade chat, it’s the Services. Which for some reason was ON on one of my chars and OFF on another… I thought it was the server (because they are on different servers) but once I dug into the Settings, I found the culprit.

Disable Services channel and join Trade and all should be back to normal. Default number for Trade is 2, and Services is 4, I think. So :

/leave 4

should leave the Services channel and

/join 2

should join the Trade one. You can even make it into a macro to fix this if this ever resets after an update or something. Let them spam their “services” into the nothingness.

I agree the default channel should be Trade and Services should be OFF by default. The moment a new players sees that spam is a “Oh no, it’s one of those pay to win games” moment and potential lost sub right out of the gate.

Boosting services existed since Everquest. Legally and illegally. Because people BUY boosts to begin with. Handing over their bank details to some sketchy website and paying with real money if they have to. And there are a TON of people that do it. So its LOGICAL that if people WANT that service, someone will step up and sell it to them.

So its not about “cash cow buy tokens” conspiracy theory. Its accepting that Boosters exist the same way gravity exists and putting them in a little corner on their own /services chat so that atleast they dont bother anyone.

So if you dont like them, simply exit the channel like I did and you wont see them ever again.

And if you disagree with boosting in general, talk to the people that actually BUY boosts. Tell them to stop doing it. That is the only way to stop those people.

Do what everyone does, leave the channel. It’s pointless unless you want to pay for someone to finish your game for you… each to their own I guess

Leave Trade chat (and services one) and pretend they don’t exist. That’s how I deal with them.

If Bliz banned those channels they’d only move to Discord or some other platform and the same activities would go on.
They can’t stop players giving gold to other players for helping them do something in game.

The first thing I do on a new character is /leave 4

That solves it for me.

Ever since the season started, all my chars left the trade chat as that’s when the boost-sells started.

Stop buying boosts…is the only solution.
