Purposefully destroy realm balance
Introduce paid character transfer

You can twist anything i say into anything you like. Fact remains that automated systems are there to be left alone, not to be changed on a whim.
Its still months and millions that need to be talked about in meetings and approved.
I wouldn’t expect many changes anytime soon.
In hindsight and because of what someone in another thread said, I think now that Blizzard knew what they were doing when they started with layering.
There is an average of 3-5 Vanilla size populations on all the servers because they estimated that the main audience would be ex-pirate server players.
They were never worried about population numbers because ‘Overpopulation a la Pirate Server’ has been on the menu since day 1.
So when we were all speculating on how they would deal with the removal of layering they were already way past that subject.
Personally i think we will never get Vanilla back again. Not the one many of us were waiting for anyway.
Kaizem is right, short of “forcing” players to roll alliance or in a few cases horde. This was always going to happen and no faction queues won’t help as in most cases there are no queues and/or the balance is so extreme it wouldn’t have an effect
hey man, i agree with you.
well yeah, this is all discussion about what could have been since the damage is already done, plus this is the same company that thought Classic shouldn’t have been a thing at all.
Almost all PvP servers are already mono-faction PvE servers.
The only difference is that on those servers there is a minority faction trapped into their capital cities, who can’t play the game at all and being kept there as hostages.
The only thing PCTs will do is to save those hostages and let them play the game as others can do.
You can’t tell me that on servers with 80%-20% faction imbalances there are 2 real factions at war with each other.
The faction balance can be easily managed with a simple solution that has even been implemented from what I’ve heard on private, illegal servers:
When there’s a slight imbalance, when a player creates a character in the advantaged faction, simply display a warning message like “because of blablabla imbalance, please play alliance”
When there’s a greater imbalance, forbid players from creating a character in the advantaged faction.
Easy fix
i think you mean the other way around but yeah, that would be an ideal solution.
There is no need to do anything about this “problem” (apart from maybe fixing the AQ gate event). Servers are doomed to be mono-faction. And it’s better that way.
Thanks. Fixed
