Is Cataclysm 'Classic?'

ruining ? you meant improving .
in classic the zones feels like a reskin of the previous zone and so on cata at least gave each zone some sense of identity

dont get me started on classic questing , each quest is litreally the same ,same thing in cata but at least cata trys to bring some unique quests ,AHHHHH! quest and its chain was the best quest chain i did in wow since forever
and even without reading the quest just by doing the quests you can get some kinda of an idea of what story behind the quest chain

in classic literally every quest is go kill x amount of mobs and bring me y amount of “insert generic item name”

I mean exactlyu what I say except if I misunderstood ruin. It means break, destroy and so on? If yes IS what I meant.
This is obviously question of taste. I love zones of Vanilla - and TBC as well. Only zones NOT ruined by Cata were the boring. Big mistake
Also I not like handheldin, linear Questing of Cata, with always “breadcrumb else no way do Quests in this xone”-pattern. I always read Quest texts.
Also not like forced specs.

But each to his own and is why Era servers for all expansions so good idea.

The quests in cata are great, no argument there.
Just would like not to be forced to level through the revamped world for the millionth time.

If I want to level in the revamped world I can do that in retail.

If I want to level from from the old world to outlands and then northrend, no option.

And even if I want to level in outlands/nothrend in retail you literally have to turn off exp or get forced to the dragon isles the second you hit 60. : P

It’s all about choice and flexibility.
(also no smite priest in cata ;n;)

on going horde favorism in old exp are annoying agreed
I want sill feed my pet, and many other flavour thing - you can but dont have too
“Want to decide where put talent points - Can’t” decide? decide between what? between 1 garbage passive that doesnt do much and other garbage passive that doesnt do much ?

made simpler , less annoying to deal with ,so you can focus on actually playing the game

not really , the level of disappointment i felt each time i level in era half the map is unfinished and unused , alot of unfulfilled potential barely if any unique and interesting quests

its factually that era was unfinished and alot of stuff were cut out of it

you already have era servers , thing is no one plays them even tho forums are full of era posts

But I can not there play Draenei, nor visit outlans not Northrend.

We need BC and Wrath Era servers too!

If you hate Era and BC and Wrath, be happy you have Cata. Why we that want BC or Wrath as wll not also allowed to play too?

I liked how accessible Wrath made raiding. I had a max level healer of every class I went to ICC with, and they all played differently enough for me to find that a great experience. The classes were not homogeneous to me, but in Cata, I got bored really fast for the first time, and felt like none of my characters really stood out or were improved for the changes. Wrath I played a lot just to chill after studying all day, doing laps around zones mining or herbing on flying mounts.

I guess the proof is in the metrics. At this point in the launch of both legacy expansions, how do the numbers compare? I logged into a Cata server the other day late at night (about 2AM) and was the only person in Stormwind, literally. That’s unusual even at late hours.

Classic died with the Lich King.

haters gonna hate.

Whoa, bro, sounds like you’re caught up in some serious nostalgia there. I mean, Classic WoW had its moments, no doubt. Making new friends, grinding away, feeling like you’re back in the golden age of gaming. But let’s be real, it’s not all sunshine and rainbows. The game had its flaws, man. Sure, it’s cool to reminisce about the good old days, but we gotta move forward, you know? WotLK and Cataclysm, those were the days when WoW was really hitting its stride. So yeah, embrace the memories, but let’s keep our eyes on the future, bro. That’s where the real adventure awaits.

Wtlk has always been my least favorite expansion (I played from vanilla to legion), I liked even WoD more, the only version of wow I liked less was vanilla. And from what I have heard from others, it feels like main reason why most people like wtlk is warcraft 3 nostalgia.

Cataclysm, while not in my top favorite expansions either (those are tbc, mop, and legion), is still improvement over wtlk in pretty much every way. Main reason why people usually hate on cata is dragon soul, and more specifically how long we were stuck with it before mop released.

This had less to do with cata itself, and more with how badly blizz overestimated the speed they could get the next expansion ready.

This just goes to prove we all different in taste. I did like first three, Vanilla, BC and Wrath - maybe Wrath bit less, but Achievements were good. I did not like Cata - well liked NEW zones, but not rest of game, including spells, talents, transportation, questing … everything but aestetics in new zones
And just for info, I never played Warcraft. I began in OG Vanilla.
So … you see taste differ, and hard to discuss.

And precicely this is why NEED Era servers for all Expansions. So Please now 2 Wrath Era servers, 2 TBC Era servers, and in a year or so 2 Cata Era servers, please!
