I think it’s a good mechanic. You shouldn’t be able to just auto run through a zone, charge through a pack of mobs and run out of their aggro range without any chance of danger.
It’s supposed to feel a bit crap so you think twice before risking it.

I hate pve daze but when I played on a private server where mobs could not daze you when you was moving it kinda made the game feel like crap. I especially hate daze on my druid in AV. But its very important for the feeling of the game.
You can only get dazed from the front. If u turn in the air everytime it’s about to hit u, u’ll never get dazed. Instead of asking for changes, learn to play against them
Is Aggro a good mechanic?
Being attacked by mobs when you’re trying to just move through an area/dungeon is really frustrating. And they don’t leave you alone even if you aren’t trying to fight them.
Personally, I don’t feel that aggro adds anything to the game. If I want to fight a mob, I will attack it. Why should it attack me?
It’s a nuisance, it makes moving around annoying and adds frustration and irritation to the game.
I know that Aggro was a part of the game in vanilla and as far as I know, it’s still in the retail version. But to me, Classic is a chance to improve the old version of the game.
All in all I’d say that Aggro has no place in Classic and I believe it should be removed from the game, as it subtracts from the fun of playing the game.
That’s why the simple and fair solution is no changes, because no change is right or wrong, there’s no way to measure how reasonable or warranted a change is Vs a bad change or unwarranted. No matter how you try there is no way to dispute this. One change will make a group of people happy and leave another group of people dissatisfied. It would be easier to accept the game and cope with its flaws or just move on to something else that meets these classic unhappy players expectations. But no, the entitlement is real.
Who ever decided to put daze in game belongs in special section of hell…thats one of worst thing ever created(dont mean just game wise)
I think it’s nice that everyone has different views and opinions. But the simple fact is that there will be no changes. This isn’t me saying this, this is blizzard saying this.
Daze is a mechanic that simply states “You don’t just ride by and ignore all us lower level mobs, you silly player”.
In my opinion, dazing hits should also be auto-crits as well. If you ignore a hostile creature and let him stab you, you’re an arrogant fool and deserve to be punished.
But of course, in retail “this mechanic isn’t fun” so it was removed along with other RPG mechanics that made sense in a virtual world and created a believable environment for an MMORPG game, and now it’s only cool to complain about it and point out how unnecessary and pointless feature they had in Classic.
It seems that the general opinion of providing feedback to a game means you’re “complaining”. All I want to do is make WoW Classic the best version of itself. And I’m doing this by providing the feedback I think would make the game better.
While some posts here certainly try to change the subject or talk about completely different mechanics instead of the actual daze mechanic, not a lot of posts have adressed the part about tanking. I personally don’t think tanking in WoW Classic is particularly fun, and considering how few tanks I see around when I play, I’d say that many other players might feel the same way. One of the issues when I do play my tank is, that if someone else pulls aggro and you turn around to get it back, the rest of the NPC’s you’re engaging are still hitting you in the back and if you’re unlucky, you get dazed. NPC’s have abilities of their own, some even have movement slowing abilities, but the daze is completely random, you can’t interrupt it, it’s not poison, disease or magic and as such can only be removed with very very few abilities, such as the paladin’s invulnerability bubble. As far as I see, if we want more tanks on the servers, a logical solution would be to make tanking more fun or less frustrating. One of the solutions could be to take a look at the daze mechanic.
You’re turning incorrectly. It’s like pvp rules, you never let them hit your back.
No, you are doing the opposite.
Daze is a CORE mechanic of wow and especially Classic and you want to sabotage the game by nerfing it and adding custom changes.
The goal with Classic is to be as authentic as possible and a historical recreation of the game how it was. Nothing more nothing less.
It’s pretty good. Extends the time you spend running away from a monster in many cases, and if you are mounted trying to bypass them - jus a few hits from a mob and you can usually get away with it, but it’s dangerous to just ride through several mobs close to your level. You are likely to be dismounted and forced to fight.
How would you prevent players from bypassing monsters too easily if we were to replace the daze mechanic?
