Hello,
I need to choice my covenant for my DH Veng’ and I hesitate with Night Fae and Venthyr.
Night Fae : I love his ability, I love his aesthetic but I don’t know if, as a DH, it’s really “acceptable”.
On the other hand, Venthyr is the obvious choice but … I don’t know. I feel like his ability seems boring
(I don’t choice my covenant depending on the meta but more about lore perspective/aesthetic perspective)
What do you think?

Night Fae is probably go to for PVP and also decent for PVE. I chose Night Fae.
Is it? When I read guides, it’s always “Night Fae & Necrolord are garbage, Kyrian is the only choice”

For Vengeance the best is Kyrian. It has the best AoE DPS, it unleashes Souls, which are your resource as Vengeance, and it fires twice upgraded, which means more souls. It also has three 20% heals which are good in a pinch.
For Havoc, you can go Kyrian ( M+/AoE ), Venthyr ( single target DPS ), Night Fae ( very good single target/AoE, PvP )
I guess Night Fae works as Vengeance too since it means you’re healing more so you’re tanky but… eh.
Just play your way, all covenants are acceptable because you can change soulbinds and conduits
visual wise probably not, but its called THE HUNT, how can it not fit the Demon HUNTer 
and its currently the only reason i enjoy DH in random bgs with all the other broken classes xD

once you try Kyrian VDH in dungeons you will never go back 
enjoy it while it lasts because they will for sure nerf it soon 
totally agree, but I would add : They had more than enough time to balance it, so if they decide to nerf kyrian, I will not be the only one upset with that, frankly speaking I would be , enraged , .
For Vengeance the best Covenant is Kyrian. AoE damage, 20% hp potions, and the AoE shatters souls which are your resource.
NF is very good in PvP and Havoc PVP.
If you want either NF or Venthyr I’d go NF, for Veng. 50% leech from The Hunt seems pretty beefy.
It sure is but remember, popping meta puts sinful brand on all ennemies around you and vengeance’s meta is “only” on a 3 minute cd.
Plus you get to look even edgier.
Nightfae seems to have the best early soul binds according to those sims bloodmallet(dot)com/chart/demon_hunter/havoc/soul_binds/castingpatchwerk
Interestingly enough those sims also show about 240 more DPS than the ones on simulationcraft(dot)org so I would be cautious trusting the sims too much the early weeks.
Choose the covenant you like more aesthetically. If you go for damage however, the best overall now is Kyrian (unless you intend to do mythic Raids where Venthyr theoretically pulls ahead ever so slightly) Venthyr was the go to during Beta, since then it got nerfed and is only comparable to Kyrian if you do your Meta every time its off CD in packs of mobs, otherwise Kyrian> Venthyr damage wise
venthry is trash after all nerf even for pure singel target hunt is better.kyrian is betetr single target and aoe.if you want to also pvp take hunt its god tier pvp good tier single target and ok tier aoe
I chose night fae. I wanted to be a fairy demon hunter. I did choose venthyr first but honest i found the dot to be lackluster… it has very little if no aoe ability and its not all that good dps wise.
Night fae ability has mix of both worlds ST and AoE and works in pvp too.
Kyrian…well lets just say im not into cult angels so i gave up the good aoe damage for that.
