I watched a few videos that said that fire mage will be s-tier, frost will be A tier and arcane would be B-tier
What do you guys think?
Doubt it, I don’t think we’ll have enough stats yet, and they’re heavily nerfing our instant cast cooldowns and proc rates.

I heard the new tier set is giving us a ton of fire blasts? Haven’t done homework yet
Maybe, due to the increased uptime and reduced cooldown of Combustion.
But then they’re also increasing the cooldown on Fire Blast to 14 seconds, from 12, and reducing the number procs from things like Hyperthermia, so we’ll likely have less instants to fire off during Combustion to naturally keep its cooldown low with Unleashed Inferno.

Unleashed Inferno damage bonus increased to 70% (was 60%).

Sun King’s Blessing damage bonus reduced to 260% (was 280%).

Looks like they rolled back the change to hyperthermia.

Sunfury or Frostfire?
We don’t know if fire mage will be meta. The meta is a combination of dps, defensives and synergies between different classes / specs.
Aug, fire mage and vdh are looking strong. That’s all there is to it.
Sunfury + unleashed inferno. There is a possible unleashed inferno frostfire build BUT according to the mage discord it plays extremely clunky.
The reason mage is so often meta is because of it’s toolkit. If mage has on par dmg with the best specs it’s usually meta.
Yeah. I know. Doesn’t change the fact that we don’t know if mage will be meta.
Hunters will be meta. Forget about mage.

No. fire mage is still bad as ever. its only going ok becouse of the set bonus and wrist armour from m+, which reduce cd of spells 5sec(give back fireblasts). The spec itself is worst spec ingame i wouldnt invest any effort in it. the damage only went down in 11.1 without abusing the wrist piece and having 4pc set.
