Horde has all the good pvp racials. Pvp as alliance is tragic, since most die hard pvpers go horde because of the racials.
Horde gets a portal directly to gnomer, since its in an alliance starting zone.
But alliance do not get portal to SM, which is in a horde starting zone.
Lvling as horde is pretty streamlined. You can stay in barrens until 20+. Then you can do hillsbrad, and thousand needles.
Alliance has to travel back and forth between 3 zones.
Horde has 3 bosses that drop good loot in uldaman. These are friendly to alliance, who cannot get these items. Rocket helm is one of them.
It kind of seems like horde has the better deal by far.
What other things favor horde?
Are there any things that alliance have advantage in?
Edit: i forgot about the major cities. Getting from org to uc is 1 airship.
Getting from ironforge to darn is 1 fp, 1 boat, 1 fp. Horde airship is free. The fps alliance have to take cost silver.
AV they literally start halfway up given them a 2 minute head start. They have much better choke points towers are harder easier to defend for the horde with less people. teleport trinket is in a better position. Their GYs don’t trap them. They have crazy skips that counter alliance defence points.
AB they start closer to Blacksmith and they literally start at the best side blacksmith farm and lumber are the optimal points.
They don’t have alliance villages blocking entire pathways like feralas and guards blocking main roads into horde areas like barrens or blocking main paths like towards sunken temple.
You have little reason to go through that way you have a clear path through sun rock retreat to get to the dungeon while mojache literally blocks the only road from the south. Which alliance needs get past to get to mara and diremaul
How else can you get to Dire Maul from the south, which is the closest flight path for Alliance? You literally have to avoid the town; it’s blocking the path. It’s much worse than a low-level zone of which the Horde already has a better pathway that has no effect in the endgame, like Dire Maul buffs it’s a clear advantage of many horde have always been the ez mode for classic and tbc.
Have you heard of this place called Feathermoon Stronghold? Regardless, of all things to complain about in this game I think a slight detour on the way to DM every once in a while isn’t among the more important issues.
Yes they are, the developers 20 ago did intentionaly all the things you mentioned, because they anticipated that you will be trying to min-max the game in 2024
Blizzard devs 20 years ago during a mushroom session: “You know what would be really funny? What if we make one faction the best at PVE so all the biggest crybabies roll that faction. THEN, get this, we give the other faction slight advantages here and there so the PVE faction will cry about it for decades! Wouldn’t that be hilarious?”
When wow was made they had teams working on different parts without much coordination. One team would think of something cool, then add it without checking with the others. Each team were in large part free to follow their own design philosophies, and balance wasn’t really a concern.
Later versions have been balanced out, and it doesn’t really matter which faction you chose, but in OG wow it mattered. And in classic it matters. Especially in pvp.
Well for those that want balance there is a version of the game where all differences between factions and classes have been homogenized out of the game along with what many would consider the original charm it had.
Stealth detection stronk! This has got to be the wildest take i’ve ever seen on the most useless racial in the game xD you sir, are a genius! A genius troll, that is. Roll a human, see how that super strong stealth detection actually works xDd it’s so strong people dont even use it 99% of the times, imagine that!
And as for stun resistance, that’s the orc racial bruh

But the game is not designed to be a racing, we players are those who gives different value for existing things.
Just for example about racials:
Despite what most ppl say, I like alliance racials more. They are comparable.
The most important is that is an Mmo and meant to play as team.
For pvp:
Undeads have a solid racial, but alliance have priest with fear ward.
Orcs have great stun resist passive and dmg boost
Dwarfs have passive to remove poisons
Gmones have escape artist
Humans have stealth detection
Night elves are stealthiest of all and shadowmeld has it uses, many do not use that.
With all that alchemy, engineering and some other professions we have ways to work around weakness.
Pve wise ally racials is better in general
Humans sword/mace mastery is huge.
Now alliance have wilds strikes which is
Windfury equal.
Pvp trinket which works on everything was excelent solution.
That we cannot have the right combination of races/classes everytime is unfortunate fact.
But in general game is way better now looking to past.
