honestly , i love building bases in games
this gives me the chance to build a base of operations
i love the idea, i just hope its more in depth than a garrison 2.0

Housing is long overdue in WoW and is a staple in many MMOs.
Those that arenât interested can just ignore it but those of us who have been waiting a long time for this highly requested feature are going to enjoy it.

Wow is kinda becoming a next-gen mmo without being a sequel. Just by adding evergreen content over time like Dynamic Flying, Housing, Warbands, better UI, Delves, etc. Graphics are also improving over time, as they are updating old zones
This really is critical to its success. That, and it has to be social.
If it isnât both of those things it will fail. If itâs another garrison-like system where your house has everything you could ever need, then it may damage the game badly.
If the house has a herb garden and an alchemy table and you can stay in your lot and summon your AH mount etc. etc. then WoW as a social game will take severe damage.
I fear very much that this will be the case, which is why I donât want housing, but here we areâŚ
I disagree. It will be content for the type of player that collects transmog, Pets, achievements, etc. Also, it will be social for people that are social due to neighbourhoods, and it will not be social, if you donât wanna be social. Being social is not something Blizzard can force other than providing the platform.

the only way they can stop that, is by making mounting not an option near your home
which i guess they will not do.
nothing stopping me mounting and using auction house outside the house, unless they make it a " you cant mount here instanced zone "

What I mean is that it should be easy to invite into your house and that this is something you should want to do sometimes. If you really donât want to for personal reasons, thatâs fine, but the game should make you want to show your house and make it an immersive process to do so.
They shouldâve never added that thing in the first placeâŚ
But at least they would normally be standing around in the major city, so thatâs a start.
If they put everything you need into your house then people are never going to visit âthe marketâ and the newest major city will be a ghost town.
I have zero intention of doing anything âsocialâ with housing. If I can solo plot I will. I canât stand forced social interaction. Nor do I want to be all on top of each other. Housing is a retreat.
If they would add solo instanced housing it would be perfect.

they already mentioned they will not add those things to housing in that video recently with preach

I know the community is going to request this. You can already see how auction house in your home was requested by virtue of a combination between mounting in your garden and the AH mount.
And they must not change their mind on this. It is ESSENTIAL that it is a place to browse collections and mementos or hang our with your guildmates or friends, NOT under any circumstances a way to avoid going to the open world.
im pretty positive they will add, Transmog vendor and bank vendor/ stash
but i think they will draw a line at AH
- im gonna try to build a Hogwarts inspired home, with a dungeon etc
Stash I am okay with. It actually makes sense outright.
We shall see. If you can just run out into the road outside your house and mount on the AH mount weâre already in trouble. Or maybe even your front garden.

I have no idea what Iâll build. Probably not much, especially since the theming of these houses will feel foreign to my character. I want a bamboo home or some sort of Chinese or Japanese dwelling - I find that aspect quite central to my character due to her being Pandaren.
Yup, thatâs what I meant. They provide the platform, but players choose how they wanna approach it. I will also use housing just for myself to have a cool ambience
But it is also nice to be in a neighbourhood with a guild and see what others have built

im gonna toot my own horn here.
but im pretty much a guru, expert, pro at base building games
ive built houses to zones to worlds in multiple games like ( enshrouded, minecraft, Rust, habbo hotel, fallout76⌠etc etc etc )
ill likely sell my skills to people that want a builder to come build their home for them
I wasnât disagreeing with you, sorry if it came across that way.
It totally should be optional if you want to be alone or in a neighbourhood, cater to all players instead of forcing them into something that partly ruins the experience.
In RIFT for example, my home was just me, a plot by myself, it was fabulous. I could do whatever I wanted with it. Sadly the tools to do anything were pretty awful but some managed some incredible creations.
Its like the door to door salesmen, âHenlo, could I interest you with bit of forced social interactionâ
