Is it a bad thing having 100% of an important secondary stat?

Hello Everyone.

Today I was completing the gear process of my Troll Elemental Shaman, level 61.
According to Icy-Veins, Mastery and Haste are her secondary best stats.
However after placing a mastery enchant on her ring I noticed she went from 99% Mastery to 100%.

I read that in this expansion, going past 30% secondary stats is not a good thing since you get less benefits from it.
Should I change her build and focus more in other secondary stats like Haste ?

I was thinking on posting this on the Shaman section, but I have this problem (not as bad) across several characters like my Orc Affliction Warlock (Too much mastery).

Thanks for your attention.
Cheers.

Hello!

Secondary stats will drop severely while you leveling, no need to stress about it.

Mastery is different between classes. Mistweaver goes well above 100%, while another class might struggle getting to 20%, don’t mind mastery that much

Also there was an addon called true stat values in shadowlands, not sure if it was updated for 10.0 and later as i nuked my addon folder. Anyway, it basically showed you your stats and how much do you lose above 30%. That being said, that’s how it worked:
From 0 to 30%, there’s no penalty.
From 30% to 39%, there’s a 10% penalty. (Penalty is on points past 30%, everything under is safe. If 1000 is 30%, you have 1027 out of 1030 for example)
From 39% to 47%, there’s a 20% penalty.
From 47% to 54%, there’s a 30% penalty.
From 54% to 66%, there’s a 40% penalty.
From 66% to 126%, there’s a 50% penalty.

Honestly even then there are benefits to getting a stat like, say, versatility(depends on the class!) to 30+%, so don’t be afraid
